Don’t dream your life … live your dreams!
On 31 October, the weather turned cold in Germany – the perfect time to escape once more and extend the summer. We had travelled extensively over the past few years, and now, following recommendations from friends, it was time for the Seychelles. With SeyVillas, we pieced the trip together until it suited our wishes and our budget.
Praslin
Our flight took us from Berlin via Abu Dhabi to Mahé. From there, we caught the ferry to Praslin. We had booked the transfers from home as part of the trip, and everything worked perfectly. We were met at the airport by someone holding a sign with our name on it (something I had always wanted to experience ;-)) and driven to the ferry.
After the crossing, a taxi collected us and took us to the Berjaya Hotel. We had a wonderfully spacious room with a large terrace, and the gorgeous beach was only around 100 metres away. The bus stop was directly behind our hotel, so we could easily explore the island by bus for very little money and get just about anywhere.
We could not simply lie around all day, so we also enjoyed setting off on foot – and that is how you discover such wonderful things.

La Digue
After 6 days, we continued to La Digue – our absolute favourite island. Small, easy to navigate and laid-back: that is how we would describe it. We stayed in a pretty little bungalow at Chez Marston, with everything we needed. The bungalows are set in a lovingly tended orchard, like the Garden of Eden. Mangoes, oranges, pomelos... delicious!!!
As there are hardly any cars on this small island, almost everyone gets around by bicycle – an absolute essential, as it is a great way to travel from A to B and explore the island.

But that was still not enough for us, so we went on another hike with our guide, Sunny... it was fairly challenging and adventurous, but tremendous fun. It took us to places we would never otherwise have discovered.

Mahé
After 5 days, our journey continued to Mahé. Our accommodation there was Chez Batista, directly on Anse Takamaka, which is one of the island’s most beautiful beaches. It is a little secluded if you do not wish to hire a car, but in return you have a fantastic beach and can go barefoot all the time – even the restaurant floor is covered in the finest sand. You may even see a crab strolling through the restaurant in the evening.
Speaking of the restaurant: it serves a lunchtime buffet on Sundays, which we would thoroughly recommend. I personally also loved the salads – the octopus salad and smoked fish salad were absolutely delicious!!! The bus stop was not too far away either, so we travelled across the island and explored Victoria. But then it was straight back to paradise...

A lovely little dream for some, and a lifelong dream for many. The Seychelles should definitely be on everyone’s ‘bucket list’!!!
We hope you have a wonderful time... Ines & Michael from Bautzen.
