A Different Kind of Christmas – in Paradise

Even the flight from Munich via Doha with Qatar Airways was a unique experience. The crew were exceptionally attentive and friendly, the onboard service was excellent and the entertainment was superb – but the BEST part was the welcome with music and television cameras when we arrived in the Seychelles, as ours was Qatar Airways’ inaugural flight from Doha to Mahé. It felt like a celebration from the moment we arrived.

Our pre-booked chauffeur took us to our accommodation, L`llot Beach Chalet, on Mahé. Our accommodation was a spacious, clean chalet with 2 bedrooms. We received a warm welcome from our host and were treated to fresh mangoes every day. The magnificent view from the terrace over the incredibly beautiful, secluded beach took our breath away. We spent 5 days there, and we would certainly recommend taking the bus to the market in Victoria.

At the agreed time on day 5, we were collected again and taken to our second accommodation, Cot Dor Footprints, on Praslin. The complex has 10 chalets, all brand new and beautifully furnished, with a small shared pool in the centre and, once again, a stunning beach. The owner gave us a very warm welcome and provided us with some very helpful tips about excursions, shopping and more as soon as we checked in. We also felt very comfortable there and had a wonderful time.

Praslin During our stay on Praslin, we booked an excursion to La Digue through Creole Services, the company that also handled our transfers through SeyVillas. Once again, we were collected on time and taken to the ferry, which brought us to the island. When we arrived on La Digue, we were given bicycles and explored the island independently. It was another wonderful experience.

The absolute highlight of our trip was moving to Cerf Island on day 8, where we had booked the villa La Fortresse for our final 5 days over Christmas. La Fortresse is a villa right by the sea – accessible only by boat.

La Fortresse Cerf Island If you appreciate something truly special and are looking for peace and quiet, this is exactly the right place! We must not forget to mention the villa’s pool and whirlpool! Naturally, beautiful sunsets were guaranteed every evening. It was wonderful to feel like the master of a house in paradise for once. It is also worth mentioning that you do not need to worry about anything, as Richie and his wife come by once a day and take care of everything (maintaining the pool, making the beds and so on). They are both very helpful and discreet, and never intrusive. Thank you again!
