Island Hopping in March

We flew with Emirates from Hamburg via Dubai to Mahé. I can highly recommend Emirates. When we landed on Mahé, we were met straight away by Creole Travel Service, and after a very short journey we were already on the ferry to Praslin. Unfortunately, it was very overcast and raining. The crossing flew by, and when we arrived at the harbour on Praslin, we could already see our guesthouse.

Praslin

Our hotel on Praslin was the Colibri Guesthouse. Unfortunately, our room was very small, but it did have a wonderful view of the sea.

A small jetty provided access to the water, and we could snorkel along the coast.

It was completely deserted, and we saw lots of large fish, rays and turtles. The food at the hotel was good, but also quite expensive. We had booked breakfast, which consisted of toast, butter, jam and eggs. For dinner, we could choose between two different three-course menus. We explored the island by bus and hire car. Our highlight was Anse Georgette, which can be reached through a resort. Please note: you need to phone Constance Lémuria Resort in advance to arrange access. After 4 nights, we took the ferry to La Digue at around midday. The crossing took approximately 15 minutes.

La Digue

When we arrived on La Digue, we were once again given a very warm welcome by Creole Travel Service. On La Digue, we stayed at the bungalow complex Case De Leela. I can wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation. Each bungalow has a kitchenette equipped with all the useful essentials. This helped us save some of our holiday budget, as we could occasionally cook for ourselves. I would definitely recommend buying fresh fish by the roadside and preparing it yourself. At 100 rupees, it is relatively inexpensive, and having it gutted costs the equivalent of €2. La Digue was our favourite island. Everything can easily be explored by bicycle, you can see the free-roaming giant tortoises, and the weather was excellent. Our favourites were Grand Anse and Petite Anse. Both beaches are beautiful. After 5 nights, we continued on to Mahé.

Mahé

After arriving on Mahé, we were taken to our final accommodation, which was around a 20-minute drive away. We stayed at Villa Dorado. The location of this 5-room villa is excellent, right by the beach, but it is also very noisy due to the adjacent main road. Unfortunately, our room did not have a private balcony either. It later turned out that this was due to an error in the description provided by SeyVillas. Every morning at 6.00 am, we were woken by the noise from the road and the housekeeper, Marta. From 7.00 am onwards, she clattered the crockery in the kitchen so loudly that sleeping in was impossible. After we reported these issues to SeyVillas by email, we were able to move immediately to the neighbouring Crown Beach Hotel. Truly excellent customer service! We were then able to enjoy the rest of our days and nights and finally get some proper sleep. Pointe au Sel beach in front of the hotel was beautiful and ideal for snorkelling.

We are glad that we booked through SeyVillas and would highly recommend booking a Seychelles holiday with them.

Many thanks again to the SeyVillas team for the excellent support and for resolving the issue so quickly!
