We had an incredible six nights in one of the villas and can wholeheartedly recommend this resort. Even the journey there by small plane was an absolute highlight. We received a warm welcome right at the gate, surprised with a cool towel and a refreshing drink. Afterwards, we were taken on a short island tour in a golf cart, visiting the island's highlights, such as restaurants and other amenities. Then we checked into our villa. The villa was absolutely fantastic: a huge bed, plenty of space, an indoor and outdoor shower, and a stunning pool with a small terrace. The villa also came with two bicycles, each engraved with our initials, so we could always find our own bike – a lovely touch. The service was outstanding: incredibly friendly, warm, and always attentive. Often it was the little things that made all the difference – sometimes our bicycles were even waiting for us after dinner, ready to go. The food was excellent at both breakfast and dinner. Each restaurant is a little gem in its own right. An absolute highlight was our unforgettable dinner at the lighthouse on our wedding day. When we returned to the villa later, a bottle of champagne, chocolates, and a bath filled with rose petals awaited us – simply perfect and very touching. The spa area also deserves special mention: we had a massage that was truly perfect – extremely professional, deeply relaxing, and in a dreamlike setting. A real highlight of our stay. All over the island, there are small, beautiful beaches with restrooms, drinking water, and fresh towels. We were even surprised with fresh fruit right on the beach once. In addition, there's a daily changing activity program that you can sign up for. Everything we participated in was superbly organized and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Desroches is a very special place that you should definitely visit. The service is among the best in the Indian Ocean for good reason. The only – and very minor – point of criticism: at breakfast or dinner, several very friendly staff members often attend to you simultaneously, asking about your well-being or plans for the day. With three or more people, this can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming; one or two dedicated staff members would be more pleasant. That's really just a kind gesture. In conclusion: We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, even though it's absolute luxury. It was an unforgettable stay for us, and we would come back anytime.
