Description:
The 14 km long, white sandy beach of the private island Desroches allows you to enjoy swimming, snorkelling, watersports, and sunbathing to your heart’s content. Meanwhile, all of the rooms of the nearby Four Seasons Resort provide direct beach access. If you are more of a pool person, the hotel’s outdoor pool is surrounded by palm trees and tropical flowers. However, there is much more on offer here. Why not make use of the hotel’s own tennis court, or take part in a boat trip? If you would like to relax a little, then enjoy some yoga or the Four Seasons Resort’s spa. You can also find time to relax without your children if you want; while your children have fun you can sit back and relax, safe in the knowledge that your kids are being looked after by the hotel’s staff.

Desroches Island is just a 40-minute flight from the main island of Mahé. The Four Seasons Resort is the only one on this 3-square-kilometre island, which is a veritable paradise for fishing and diving fans. Besides colourful fish and majestic tortoises, the diving site The Canyon offers a highlight of the island, namely an adventurous labyrinth of underwater grottos. But it’s not just the water around the island that is worth a look: due to its extensive vegetation, the island used to be called Wood Island. Even to this day, there are coconut palm plantations here where workers obtain coconut oil from the dried flesh of the coconuts. Discover this island paradise to your heart’s content by hiking or by bike. Or, take a look into history at the lighthouse on the western edge of the island.

- Please note that a wooden retaining wall has been temporarily installed on the main beach in front of the main pool, bar and Sunset Beach Suites to restore the sandy beach that was eroded by the sea in 2020. This area does not currently look like a pristine Seychelles beach, but you will find many other beautiful beaches on the island where you can relax instead.
- Since 01.08.2023, the sustainability levy for tourism has come into force. Holidaymakers have to pay between 25-100 Seychelles Rupees per person/night on arrival, depending on the size of the accommodation booked. Perfection. Staff seemed really interested to engage with us. Location is spectacular. We particularly enjoyed cycling to remote beaches around the island - to find hotel-provided towels, beach equipment & chilled water waiting for us. Will definitely return!
If you like pure luxury, this is of course perfect. Everyone from the gardener to the service staff are always friendly. There are towels and water on every beach.
