Couples with or without children can enjoy utmost privacy and comfort here during their holiday. The quaint Mountain View Hotel is located amidst greenery in the mountains around Grand Anse on La Digue. All of the rooms have their own balcony offering beautiful views of the surrounding tropical nature. But there’s more: the communal infinity pool is ideal for cooling off on hot days, while the hotel’s own restaurant, which serves up Creole food, is ideal for that post-swim hunger and breakfast each day.
All of the rooms are air-conditioned and offer tasteful, island-typical interiors that are both modern and inviting. Bright colours, wooden furniture, and carefully-chosen accessories make you feel right at home. Besides the comfortable beds and built-in wardrobe, the rooms also offer seating and the aforementioned balcony where you can enjoy beautiful views of the greenery while relaxing. The comfortable facilities are rounded off by a modern bathroom which offers a shower, bathtub, and bidet.
La Digue is almost completely devoid of cars, and the main way of getting around the Seychelles’ fourth-largest island is on-foot or by bike. This means that the atmosphere here is particularly relaxed and quiet. Take a long walk around your accommodation and take in the beautiful nature of the mountains in Grand Anse. The closest beaches are also not far away at all, for example, Anse Source d’Argent is around 2 km away. This stunning beach offers shallow water and beautiful white sand, and is one of the most photogenic beaches you will find anywhere in the world. But it offers more than just great pictures, it’s also ideal for swimming, snorkelling, and simply enjoying your time there.

You can only give the only stars here for the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is located on a very high hill on an island that you can almost only explore by bike, down it goes, you can only get up with a steep uphill push. There is no signage or signposting, very difficult to find again in the evening. It is totally built up with a lot of stairs, the upper floor is reached via a completely different staircase than the lower one, a bit like Hogwards. You can hardly get up and down with suitcases. The rooms are furnished cold and with thick blankets on the beds, at a minimum of 26 degrees at night... probably you should cool the room down with energy expenditure in order to be able to wrap yourself up thickly. Bathroom fixtures, towel rails wobble and are partially torn. You can hardly use the balcony because you look into the neighboring room. Very noisy and even the view is not exactly Mountainvew, even if a mountain can be seen behind the visible houses and hotel buildings. There was no cold white wine for dinner, only ice-cold red wine. Not quite central to the ferry and beaches for swimming, snorkeling or shopping. Still very nice in nature due to the location. Staff friendly and the food at the half board in the evening was great. One of the best dinners during the holiday, small selection of dishes per day but always very good. Service was good too. On the day of departure, the room could remain occupied until noon.
