Transfer from La Digue to Mahe` by ferry. As expected, the crossing was very rough - not for sensitive stomachs! The Canopy is a great hotel, nothing is left to be desired. Super beautiful grounds and pool area. There are enough places to lie down by the pool with excellent service. You get a carafe of chilled water brought to your lounger without being asked. The pool bar invites you to linger and conjures up really tasty drinks and snacks. Swimming in the sea was not really possible during our time. Our only criticism relates to the evening meal. There is a set menu. We did not have a waiter responsible for our table on any day. There were enough staff, but no one knew their job. This resulted in a wild mess when setting the table, taking orders, serving and clearing away. A lot of things were forgotten and you didn't feel well looked after. What a shame! We think that the service staff were certainly motivated, but were hampered by a lack of structure. The cleanliness in all areas of the hotel is worth mentioning.

Breakfast was spectacular and there was enough to suit all tastes. The New Year's Eve party was really nice, live band, great atmosphere. But here too, the vegetarian food was absolutely nothing special compared to the lobster that was available for non-vegetarians. Drinks were included, but only until 10 p.m. The party continued at the Politbar, where you then had to pay for drinks. We would have appreciated some communication about this in advance. Overall, we felt that the service was better coordinated than in the neighboring Mango House. We had a great 3 days.
