At last, on 15 December, my boyfriend Paolo and I set off from Zurich via Dubai to Mahé.
As soon as we arrived on the island, we were captivated by its charm. Then, when we got into the taxi and the driver greeted us warmly with ‘Welcome to paradise’, we were completely won over
–We had caught Seychelles fever–
The tiredness from our journey vanished, and we were eager to explore the island.
When we arrived at the Bliss Hotel, we received a very warm welcome from a German-speaking lady.
We were overcome with indescribable happiness and sheer delight when we opened the curtains in our room at the Bliss Hotel.
Our sea-view room with a balcony was an absolute dream. The sea was right in front of us, with Silhouette Island opposite and the typical granite rocks to our right – a picture-postcard panorama.View from a sea-view room at Bliss Hotel
We had booked the room with breakfast included, which was served on a terrace overlooking the sea. The selection was excellent. A different Creole menu is offered every evening for around €35–40.
We ate there every evening because the food was simply incredibly delicious, and the view was so beautiful that we never wanted to leave. Breakfast buffet at the Bliss Hotel
The lovely lady at reception also gave us a brilliant insider tip. As we did not have a car, it was great that we could even get there on foot. The small Anse l'Ilot is only 10 minutes away, and at sunset you could watch eagle rays there. Naturally, we were not going to miss that ????

But that was not the only place where we could admire the impressive underwater world; we could also explore the ‘house reef’ right off the hotel beach. Underwater world at the house reef
Travelling around Mahé by bus is incredibly easy. The bus stop is directly outside the hotel. From there, we took the bus towards Victoria, where our boat trip to the marine park began. Our local skipper, John, took us through the marine park, allowing us to visit many small islands that can only be reached by boat. As well as some magnificent snorkelling spots, we also had the chance to meet the giant tortoises on land, which was definitely one of the highlights of our Seychelles trip.Giant tortoises in the marine park
Unfortunately, we only had two days at the Bliss Hotel, but we will definitely return. The advice and service from SeyVillas were impeccable, and everything went perfectly.
