A Holiday in Paradise
In October 2024, we fulfilled our dream of travelling to the Seychelles. Even landing right beside the sea immediately puts you in the holiday mood. Straight after our arrival, we were taken to the harbour and caught the ferry to Praslin.Praslin
We had a lovely room at Colibri Guesthouse, where the evening meal was excellent. The very next day, we went on an excursion to Curieuse and St. Pierre to see the giant tortoises.
It was a unique experience that we would recommend to everyone. After a barbecue, we made another stop to go snorkelling off St. Pierre. We hired a car for the following day and visited Anse Lazio in the morning, which really impressed us, followed by Anse Georgette in the afternoon. The drive along the coast alone was wonderful, with so many beautiful beaches. Afterwards, we spent a day by the hotel pool to take in all the new impressions. On the fifth day, we took a short ferry journey to La Digue.
La Digue
We had booked a standard room there, which was rather basic. Nevertheless, we thought the accommodation as a whole was lovely. We hired bicycles for two days from just outside the hotel entrance and, after a short ride on the first day, visited Grand Anse and Anse Petite. Both beaches are simply beautiful. At Petite Anse, we had a special encounter with some local people who were collecting rubbish on the beach and stopped to chat with us.
They even gave us some bananas, which highlighted just how welcoming and open the islanders are. We spent the afternoon snorkelling at Anse Severe.

The next morning, we decided to get up early and visit Union Estate Park, which meant we were among the first visitors to Anse Source d'Argent. With no crowds around, we explored one stretch of beach after another and found the perfect spot to relax. Exploring the island by bicycle is truly special and really puts you in the holiday mood.
For our final four nights, we had decided to stay on Mahé at Bliss Hotel. This naturally meant another ferry journey.
Mahé
Bliss Hotel is quite an eclectic mix of old and new, with a very harmonious overall concept. The small stretch of beach in front of the hotel is perfect for swimming.

We had not made any further plans for our stay on Mahé and wanted to use the time to relax. We spent one day with a photographer, which gave us the opportunity to discover quite a bit more of the island after all. We would recommend visiting Beau Vallon beach and the capital, Victoria. Anyone looking to buy souvenirs should definitely visit Sir Selwyn Selwyn Clarke Market and soak up the bustling market atmosphere. If, like us, you missed the opportunity to see a Coco de Mer on Praslin, you will have another chance at the botanical gardens. Mahé is a very green island and, in hindsight, we would recommend going on a hike to explore the natural scenery away from the beaches.
After twelve nights in paradise, it was time for us to say goodbye and return home with countless wonderful memories. We were very pleased with the service from SeyVillas and would happily recommend it to everyone.
