The journey, flying from Frankfurt with a stopover in Addis Ababa, went very smoothly. Even as we came in to land, we could already sense how beautiful the Seychelles are. When we arrived at the airport on Mahé, we were met straight away by Creole Travel. During the transfer to our first hotel, Bliss Hotel Mahé, we were already able to take in our first impressions of this beautiful island.
We chose two different hotels, with our first stop in the north-west of Mahé at the beautiful Bliss Hotel
right by the sea with its own beach.

When we arrived at the hotel, we received a very warm welcome with a cold drink and fresh coconut. We were able to settle straight into our beautifully furnished room. The room was very clean, all the staff were very friendly and the food was exceptionally tasty. The hotel has a very large garden with enormous mango trees. At dusk, it was wonderful to watch the fruit bats going about their business here. In the upper part of the hotel, hidden amongst the many trees, is the lovely pool area, with sun loungers, parasols and a small bar.
The very next day, we set off on a lovely hike along the Anse Major Trail , equipped with our swimwear and sturdy footwear. We first took the public bus from our hotel to Beau Vallon beach. The bus journey alone was an interesting experience and gave us another glimpse of the country and its people. We walked the trail on our own, which was easy enough thanks to the clear signposting. Before setting off, you have to pay SCR 150 per person at a small hut. Please note that payment is by card only. The route is quite challenging, but definitely worthwhile. There are beautiful views across the rocks and out to sea, and at times it feels as though you are walking through a jungle. There is no need to worry about encountering any dangerous reptiles.Anse Major
Shortly before reaching the destination, there is an incredibly beautiful view of the small beach of the same name, Anse Major. After the approximately 1-hour walk, you can treat yourself to a well-earned cold beer at a small beach bar. There are two options for the return journey: walk back the same way or take a water taxi. We chose the water taxi. The small boat returns to Beau Vallon beach almost every hour.

We also particularly liked Anse Soleil, which we could easily reach within a few minutes on foot from our hotel. We were almost alone on the beach and saw many beautiful fish while snorkelling.
Another wonderful experience was a visit to Beau Vallon, which was again easy to reach by public bus. This is one of the largest beaches on Mahé and differs from the others in several ways, not least because there are bars and small souvenir shops directly on the beach.

A particular highlight was a full-day tour of Sainte Anne Marine National Park, including a barbecue and snorkelling stops. We were fortunate that the water was very calm and were able to see lots of colourful fish.
After all these experiences, we treated ourselves to a few more days at Constance Ephelia Seychelles, also on Mahé. The transfer was perfectly organised here too. At Constance Ephelia, we received an exceptionally warm and friendly welcome.
The hotel is simply a dream! Even our first impression was astonishing. The hotel grounds are very extensive, covering a vast area with two beautiful, snow-white beaches. While snorkelling at North Beach, we once again saw some beautiful fish. There is also an area within the grounds where several giant tortoises live, and you can watch them during their daily feeding. Everything can be reached on foot or by bicycle, and there is always the option of using the buggies that regularly travel around the grounds. The choice of restaurants at the resort is tremendous. Our favourite was Helios restaurant, which served delicious Mediterranean dishes. The exceptionally attentive staff throughout the entire resort also deserve a special mention.
