Honeymoon in the Seychelles

After the whirlwind of our wedding, we wanted to begin married life somewhere truly special – far from everyday life, surrounded by tranquillity, nature and the sea. We chose the Seychelles, specifically the islands of Mahé and Praslin. Although they are only a short boat ride apart, each reveals a different side of paradise.

Mahé – Arriving in paradise

As soon as we stepped off the plane, we were greeted by the warm, humid air – and that unmistakable scent of the sea, tropical plants and sunshine.Dreamlike sunsetDreamlike sunset Our first destination was Villa Panoramic Seaview, which truly lived up to its name. From our balcony, we had spectacular views over the bay and the ocean, shimmering in every shade of blue in the morning light. Our days on Mahé began at a leisurely pace: breakfast with fresh fruit, coconut and Creole coffee, followed by a drive along the coastal road – every bend revealed a new view of the sea. At the small distillery, we not only sampled the different varieties of rum, but also met the large Aldabra giant tortoise that lived contentedly among the palm trees. We often spent our afternoons on the beaches around Anse Royale or at Sunset Beach, where the evening light was simply magical. As the sun slowly disappeared behind the granite rocks and the sea shimmered gold, we understood why the Seychelles are considered one of the most romantic places in the world.

Praslin – Luxury and nature in harmony

After a few days, we continued to Praslin by ferry. As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the island felt a little quieter and more unspoilt. Constance LémuriaConstance Lémuria Our hotel, the Constance Lémuria Seychelles, was a dream: an expansive property nestled among palm trees, overlooking the bay and offering access to several idyllic beaches. Anse Georgette, PraslinAnse Georgette, Praslin One of them, Anse Georgette, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world – and rightly so. Fine white sand, turquoise water and hardly anyone else around. The path there leads through the Lémuria grounds and ends at a small rise with a perfect view of the endless blue beyond. We spent hours there swimming, snorkelling and simply taking it all in.

The resort itself also offered everything we could have wished for on our honeymoon: tranquillity, excellent food and that special blend of elegance and relaxed charm. In the evenings, we often sat on the terrace with a cocktail in hand, listening to the sound of the waves and unwinding at the end of the day.

A final reflection filled with gratitude

Our honeymoon in the Seychelles was more than just a holiday – it was an experience that will stay with us for a long time. Each island had its own character: Mahé was lively and diverse, with breathtaking views; Praslin was peaceful, luxurious and close to nature.

From meeting the tortoise at Takamaka and strolling along Sunset Beach to the hours spent at Anse Georgette, every day felt like a little piece of eternity. When we look at the photos now – of the view from Villa Panoramic Seaview, of Lémuria, the beaches and the sunsets – we remember not only the places, but also the feeling of having truly arrived.
