About thirty minutes' drive from the guesthouse is the island's airport, or it's about twenty minutes to the jetty. The island's UNESCO World Heritage nature reserve, the Vallée de Mai, is also about fifteen minutes from the estate. This park was named a UNESCO site in 1983, and is home to a number of bird species and palm trees, including the famous Coco de Mer palm tree. The beautiful island of Curieuse, with over five-hundred giant tortoises, can be reached in just fifteen minutes by ferry, while a day trip to the nearby island of La Digue, well-known for its secluded beaches and snorkelling, is well-worthwhile.
