Description:
The inviting Pension Citadelle sits slightly elevated amidst the lush greenery of its surrounding garden. This charming, historical-style house is located just a short walk from the harbour on the island. The quaint terrace with its comfortable seating is the ideal starting point for smaller or larger excursions. Whether you wander into La Passe, the idyllic harbour town nearby, or walk the 150 metres to the beach, almost everything lies on your doorstep. Find restaurants, cafés and clubs, or go sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling on the powdery-fine white sandy beach. The colourful fishing boats bob on the waves here in the turquoise ocean, and often have freshly-caught fish on-board. Here, you can even buy some for your dinner, or perhaps arrange an individual boat tour for yourselves.
The shining yellow of the sun beams into the bedroom, where a comfortable double bed awaits. Thanks to the air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and curtains in sharp natural tones, you can keep the heat and the sun outside as much as you wish to. Reserved déco and lighting keep the room simple and emphasise time spent together. Indoors, perhaps the best room for this is the kitchen, where you can prepare freshly-caught fish from the harbour or try out other exotic ingredients that you have purchased, before enjoying time spent with your other half on the cosy terrace. The naturally-lit bathroom also offers bright colours and elegance, while the spacious shower and natural materials used make this room a small oasis that you can enjoy.
Crystal-clear, calm water, powdery-fine white sand, surrounded by lush green palm trees and bordered by Seychelles-typical granite boulders: all this awaits at Anse Severe, just 1 km away from the Pension Citadelle. The best way to get here, and almost anywhere else on the island, is by bike. La Digue is just 10 square kilometres in size, although that still makes it the fourth-largest Seychelles island. Besides the bike, boats are also a popular mode of transport. From the harbour in La Passe, you can take the ferry over to Praslin, the second-largest Seychelles island, in just 15 minutes. Or, for something a little more romantic, why not pay a visit to Anse Réunion, just 15 minutes’ walk away from the Pension Citadelle, where you can enjoy sunset views that bathe the sky in a breathtaking spectacle of colours.

The Pension Citadelle is located in the middle of the residential area of La Passe. Living among locals, so to speak. The two apartments are small but nice. And Talma the owner is great. Every day she came by to chat and ask if everything was ok. Always pleasantly reserved, never intrusive and always very warm. Cleaning was done daily and very thoroughly. We felt incredibly comfortable and in good hands. When you live with the locals, it's natural that you notice what's going on around you. The neighbor across the street liked to listen to music loudly, the neighbor next door spent two days building a raised bed. The children are playing in the street. Dogs bark, roosters crow. And on the weekend everyone just likes to listen to music (unfortunately not the same). You're right in the middle of it all. We really liked that. If you prefer to live in the bubble of a resort or hotel, this is clearly the wrong place for you. We were exactly right. The only downside: the sea can neither be seen nor heard from the accommodation. But La Digue isn't really that far away and you can reach the wonderful Anse Severe in 10 minutes by bike. Very nice accommodation had the upper apartment in the middle of a residential area, only a 10 minute walk to the town. The hostess was very nice and got us some great bikes. We liked it. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
