Bei unserer Ankunft in diesem Gästehaus wurden wir von der Vermieterin bereits erwartet. Wir bestellten gleich 2 Fahrräder, die uns kurze Zeit später für die nächsten 5 Tage zur Verfügung standen. Wir hatten für die Übernachtungen das Mandarin Studio gebucht und waren von dessen Größe allerdings etwas negativ überrascht. Der Aufenthaltsbereich bezog sich in erster Linie nur auf die relativ kleine offene Veranda im hinteren Teil des Gästehauses. Das klimatisierte Schlafzimmer sowie das Bad entsprachen der Beschreibung nach zu 100 % unseren Vorstellungen. In der zweckmäßig eingerichteten Küche konnten wir unser Frühstück zubereiten. Tagsüber waren wir auf fast allen Wegen und Straßen der Insel auf Erkundungstour und besuchten dabei zahlreiche Strände. Im Zentrum der Insel verlief die Fahrstrecke meist eben, jedoch mussten wir auch hier und da kurze Steigungen bewältigen aber dann konnten wir uns wieder rollen lassen und dabei die fantastische tropische Natur genießen.
Eine tolle Unterkunft in guter Lage zum Anse Major. Ich empfehle ein Fahrrad zu mieten da es zu Fuß relativ weitläufig ist. Das Bad war modern und das Schlafzimmer hatte eine Klimaanlage. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und hatten auch den Wäscheservice für 100 SCR in Anspruch genommen, womit wir sehr zufrieden waren.
Our second stop in the orange groves was lovely. Surrounded by lush greenery and various wild chickens, cats, and birds, it felt like being in a jungle. We received a warm welcome, and Virginie was very helpful and eager to ensure we had a wonderful time on La Digue. Since the accommodation is somewhat secluded on the hill in the middle of the island, a bicycle is essential. We paid €25 per day for two bikes, and Virginie arranged them for us upon arrival. One of the bikes had to be replaced on the second day due to a broken gear shifter. It's a 10-minute bike ride to the nearest beach and 15 minutes to the village with its various restaurants. The room was very clean, but there wasn't much space to spread out your suitcase or relax. There's also a veranda outside with a dining table, which leads to a separate kitchen. There's no air conditioning in the kitchen, and it gets quite warm while preparing meals. However, the kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need. Besides our divided room, there is a second, more spacious room with an integrated kitchen, which definitely deserves 5 stars. We thank Virginie for her kind nature and the wonderful La Digue wildlife experience.
