A wonderful trip we'd love to take again...
A wonderful trip, even though it did not get off to the best start. Our flight left Milan Malpensa late because of a thunderstorm, so we missed our connecting flight in Abu Dhabi. As a result, we spent a whole day in the United Arab Emirates, between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, regretting the precious holiday time we were losing by the beach and sea. We immediately made arrangements online and by email to extend our stay in the Seychelles by one day to make up for the disruption. Our request was accepted straight away and, much to our delight, we enjoyed the day exploring Abu Dhabi.
Praslin
From then on, however, everything worked out perfectly. Once we had arrived on Mahé, taken the ferry to Praslin and settled into the villas at Iles des Palmes, we began exploring the island by hiring a car to visit its stunning beaches: Anse Lazio, Anse Georgette, Anse Takamaka and Cote d’Or.

We visited Vallée de Mai National Park in the hills of Praslin, admiring the coco de mer palms and countless varieties of plants and birds. We would also see the birds in the mornings from our room’s terrace, which overlooked the park across the bay.
Having breakfast with these extremely rare endemic birds became a much-anticipated part of each day, as they came very close to us to take a small piece of bread. In the evenings, it was wonderful to watch the flying foxes crossing the sky. We also tried the island’s Creole cuisine, with its delicious coconut and curry sauces. Our only disappointment was that the restaurants were rather expensive. The takeaway food, on the other hand, was very reasonably priced and excellent quality.
La Digue
Over the following days, we visited the island of La Digue, spending one night at Michel’s wonderful little guest house. It had a very homely atmosphere, and he provided us with bicycles so that we could visit Anse Source d'Argent, Anse Patates and Grand Anse. It was great fun, although also tiring because of the intense heat.

It was very relaxing to cycle peacefully along the island’s little roads without any traffic and have lunch in traditional restaurants by the sea. In the evening, the island suddenly emptied, and all we could do was go to bed early to prepare for another day of sunshine and sea. We spent another wonderful day on a boat excursion that we booked at the last minute, although it was no less enjoyable for that, visiting the islands of Coco and Félicité.

As keen snorkellers, we spent a great deal of time swimming in these crystal-clear waters, where we saw a multitude of fish and turtles. On the return boat journey, a pod of dolphins unexpectedly followed us for a short distance. In a single day, we saw so many wonders that we had never dreamt we would be able to experience in our lifetime. We would have loved to stay longer, but we had no more days available. We promised ourselves that we would return as soon as possible to restore our spirits on these paradise islands.
Travelling around the islands always felt peaceful and safe, and we were never afraid. SeyVillas organised the trip exceptionally well, allowing us to see these wonderful places. We still follow SeyVillas on Facebook today, where we can enjoy photographs and videos of the places we visited.
