Island Hopping on Praslin, La Digue and Mahé
At the beginning of January, the four of us – two couples – decided to take a trip to the Seychelles together. Timeframe: March–April 2017. Island hopping was a must, so that we could experience as much of the Seychelles as possible. After some brief research at travel agencies and online, we came across SeyVillas. They offer ready-made itineraries with different lengths of stay on the islands. We decided on six nights each on Praslin, La Digue and Mahé, including transfers.
Praslin
The transfer went perfectly (airport/Mahé – ferry to Praslin – hotel). The hotel Berjaya Praslin Beach is very lovely, with its own pool and bar, as well as a restaurant right on the beach. The staff are friendly and helpful.
We explored the island on foot and by bus. It is rather steep for cycling and, in our opinion, the island is too small to warrant hiring a car. Besides, this way you meet the local people and gain a better understanding of their way of life. We were able to explore many beaches and small settlements.

La Digue
Another perfectly organised transfer (hotel – ferry – hotel) took us to La Digue and the small hotel Chez Marston. The rooms are large and simple, but lovingly designed and equipped with everything you need. (Fridge, cooking facilities, kettle, etc.) Everything is very clean. We thought the location was perfect: five minutes from the harbour, a restaurant on the premises, bicycle hire directly opposite and a mini-market next door.
Bicycles are a must here if you want to explore the island. Most beaches are accessible by bicycle, including Anse Source d'Argent, Anse Banane and Grand Anse. There are also numerous tours available for swimming and snorkelling. We booked a half-day tour on a small catamaran for a maximum of 10 people, which made the experience much more personal and allowed for spontaneous stops. We snorkelled off the three islands of Grande Soeur, Coco Island and Felicité – absolutely beautiful ...

Mahé
We reached the third island on our trip via another well-organised transfer.
This journey involves two ferries: La Digue – Praslin and Praslin – Mahé. On Mahé, we treated ourselves to a hire car, which was handed over to us at the harbour after our ferry arrived. We stayed at Anse Norwa Self Catering on Beau Vallon, on the western side (sunset!) in the far north of the island. We had a beautiful apartment with a fully equipped kitchen.
A fantastic beach was right on our doorstep. Well, we did still have to cross the road. The small property has an outdoor shower, which is very handy for avoiding bringing sand into the apartment. Breakfast is served in an open pavilion overlooking the Indian Ocean ... paradise.

Conclusion:
We were delighted by the beautiful scenery, the snorkelling opportunities and the people on the islands. If you would like to get a takeaway, which can be a good alternative to eating in restaurants, do not leave it too late, as many places close as early as 17:00. You should always carry a torch after 19:00. Whenever you go out, make sure you bring your swimming things too, as there are so many secluded beaches and it is very, very warm.
Many thanks to SeyVillas
We would certainly recommend organising your trip through SeyVillas, as both the price and the quality are excellent. Questions about the trip, accommodation and so on were answered quickly, warmly and very competently, whether by telephone or email. We also arranged our hire car through SeyVillas, along with additional insurance so that we would not have to pay an excess in the event of any damage.
Everything was perfect – many thanks for that!!!
If we ever fly to the Seychelles again ... it will definitely be with SeyVillas!
