A Wonder Waiting to Be Discovered

Hello everyone, our holiday in the Seychelles was firmly decided after speaking on the phone with a SeyVillas representative, whose detailed description of this earthly paradise already had me dreaming! So we decided to set off... but first, let us introduce ourselves: we are Sabina and Mario, ready to discover an enchanting destination!

We flew with Turkish Airlines from Malpensa to Istanbul, where we had a stopover of around 2 hours before continuing to the island of Mahé in the Seychelles. Once there, we took another flight with Air Seychelles to Praslin. I highly recommend the domestic flight, both because there is little difference in price compared with the fast ferry – which was a disaster on the return journey due to rough seas – and because of the wonderful views over the islands.

La Digue

Moving on... after arriving in Praslin following a flight of around 20 minutes in a 20-seater aircraft, SeyVillas’ impeccable organisation meant that we were met and taken to the harbour to continue by fast ferry to our final destination: La Digue. We stayed here for 4 days at the guesthouse Pension Fidele, a welcoming house in a very convenient location. The island is small, and the best way to discover its wonders is by hiring a bicycle, which allowed us to explore the entire north-eastern coast. Of course, we hurried along to discover the most beautiful beaches in the south-west, such as Anse Source d'Argent, passing through a park inhabited by giant tortoises.

In the south-east of the island, another spectacular sight awaits at Grand Anse, which can be reached by bicycle through a jungle complete with vines. When we arrived, our eyes were filled with enchanting colours. Following a coastal path for around 15 minutes brings you to Petite Anse, and after another 25 minutes you reach the natural swimming pool known as Anse Cocos.

Praslin

After these fantastic days, we left for Praslin, around 20 minutes away by fast ferry. SeyVillas assisted us with every transfer with the utmost punctuality and professionalism, and now it was time to discover Praslin. As soon as we arrived, we were taken to Villa Confort, a beautiful guesthouse with a swimming pool – perfect for enjoying in the evening!

The island is larger than La Digue and can be explored by bus. A ticket costs 5 Seychellois rupees, around €0.34, and you can reach any beach. The only drawback is that the bus service runs only until 18:00, and as the sun sets at around 18:30, we had to take a taxi back – but it was worth it!

Praslin is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world: Anse Lazio, in the north-east of the island. In the north-west, meanwhile, Anse Georgette is, in our opinion, a true earthly paradise. Anse Georgette is a small beach within the Lémuria resort. A reservation is required to enter, although admission is free, as no more than 40 people are allowed in each day. After entering the resort and crossing the golf course, you reach this wonderful beach with colours beyond imagination.

Our journey was almost over, and we set off for Mahé, where we stayed for just one night. We spent the day buying souvenirs and exploring Victoria, the capital of this fantastic archipelago in the Indian Ocean.

Thank you, SeyVillas, for ensuring that everything went perfectly and allowing us to experience this fantastic earthly paradise!
