Discovering La Digue, a Magnificent Island in the Seychelles
Once we arrived at the port of La Passe, we made our way to our accommodation: Orchid Self Catering Apartment, a charming property in the north-west of La Digue. We received a very warm welcome, complete with a welcome cocktail.
After meeting the owner and looking around the apartment, we headed to Anse Severe, 1.30 km away. There, we discovered a magnificent fine-sand beach with turquoise water.
It is ideal for snorkelling and spotting all the colourful fish.
We also had the chance to see the magnificent giant tortoises roaming freely – truly incredible creatures.

We also explored the north-east coast of La Digue, which offers incredible views to discover and photograph (Anse Gaulettes, Anse Grosse Roche, Anse Banane, Anse Fourmis).
We enjoyed lunch overlooking the sea at a small snack bar, ‘Chez Jules’, where we sampled some local dishes.
The following day, we decided to explore the south-west of the island, where Anse Source d'Argent is located, passing through ‘L'Union Estate ’. Here, we discovered a former coconut and vanilla plantation, as well as a tortoise enclosure!
We then reached Anse Source d’Argent, a heavenly beach with spectacular granite boulders, white sand and turquoise-blue water.

We spread our towels beneath the coconut palms before going for a swim and admiring the different fish.
And let us not forget the little beach bars where we stopped for refreshments: the cocktails were excellent!

We also set off to discover Petite Anse, Grand Anse and Anse Cocos. This beach is large, wild and almost deserted.
To get there, we had to follow a small path through the vegetation and clamber over rocks. It took some effort, but it was well worth it when we finally reached this magnificent white-sand beach, with its crystal-clear water, natural pools and ever-spectacular rocks.

On our final day, we visited Curieuse Marine National Park, an island famous for its giant tortoises, and had lunch among them!
A Creole lunch made our day on Curieuse perfect.
We then followed the signposted path to Anse José and walked to the Doctor’s House. Do go inside to discover the history of this island!

We had a wonderful stay in the Seychelles – a truly magical trip!
We placed our trust in SeyVillas and would recommend the website to anyone planning a trip to the Seychelles.
