Dream Holiday in the Seychelles
The Seychelles had long been a dream destination for us, and now we have finally made that dream come true! We enjoyed every single day so much and would wholeheartedly recommend the Seychelles to absolutely everyone! After arriving at the airport, we took the ferry to the smallest of the Seychelles islands: La Digue.
La Digue is a very small island where you can – and have to – get everywhere on foot or by bicycle. There are no cars (apart from a few taxis, construction vehicles and golf carts), and all the islanders use bicycles to get around.
This gives the island such a wonderful and unique atmosphere that you immediately feel completely at ease and relaxed.

On La Digue, we stayed at Orchid Self Catering Apartment. We had our own fully equipped kitchen there. This was really convenient at times, as we could cook or heat something up ourselves.
We had also booked breakfast, which was absolutely delicious. Every morning, there was toast with butter and jam, eggs (scrambled eggs, omelettes, etc.), pancakes, tea or coffee, as well as fresh fruit. We were genuinely full and happy after breakfast every morning.
We were also very happy with our room – or rather, our own little apartment. Everything was clean, and the bed was freshly made every day.
La Digue itself was our absolute favourite island! It was so beautiful and truly felt like paradise. You can cycle halfway around the island on a very well-maintained cycle path along the coast. This is an absolute must! The route is not too difficult, and the views make it well worth the effort.
In general, cycling was our favourite thing to do on La Digue – simply magical and so beautiful.

We also went on a kayak tour in transparent kayaks. This was another highlight of our trip. We can wholeheartedly recommend the three-hour tour with Robert from Sunny Trail Guide. He is based at L'Union Estate , by the famous Anse Source d'Argent. It really is a fantastic experience and a wonderfully scenic tour.
Spending several days on La Digue is definitely worthwhile and highly recommended.
Afterwards, we took the ferry back to Mahé and checked into our second accommodation, Tama's Holiday Apartments. We were very pleased here too. The owner was incredibly friendly, and when we saw our room, we had a little wow moment. We were briefly lost for words because the view was simply so beautiful.
The accommodation is up in the hills, which gives you wonderful views of both the mountains and the sea. It was truly breathtaking. We woke up to this beautiful view every morning.
We would return in a heartbeat! The kitchen, bedroom and bathroom were all still quite new. We felt very comfortable here. It is about a 10-minute walk to Beau Vallon, but that was no problem at all. If you visit the Seychelles, you absolutely must come to this beach in the evening to have something to eat or simply watch the sunset!
Many locals gather there to listen to music and enjoy the sea and sunset together. We found it very interesting and lovely to spend time amongst the locals and experience a little of their culture.
On Mahé, it is also worth hiring a car, as the island is somewhat larger and having a car allows you to see more of it. We can also highly recommend the Morne Blanc hike and the Anse Major Trail . Neither is too difficult, and both offer beautiful views.
We also visited the Port Glaud waterfall, which we would highly recommend. You can swim and fish there, which was great fun.

We can also recommend the Takamaka rum tour. It takes place at the Takamaka Rum Distillery , where you can also enjoy a rum tasting.
All in all, our Seychelles holiday was a dream in paradise, and SeyVillas helped us make it a reality. We would wholeheartedly recommend the Seychelles to everyone, as there is something for all tastes, whether you enjoy idyllic beaches, hiking, cycling tours and much more.
The Seychelles – a little paradise!
