A Holiday with Lovely People
It was already our second holiday in the Seychelles, and once again it was a dream trip. We flew with Qatar Airways from Frankfurt via Doha to Mahé from 22 February–8 March 2024. The Creole Travel staff were already waiting for us at the airport. We then took the bus to the ferry, which brought us to Praslin right on time. Once again, we had opted for island hopping. We often travelled on the local buses. A bus card purchased at the supermarket (a Visitors Card that can be topped up) allows you to use the buses for a certain period. It is also a good way to strike up conversations with the locals.
We stayed at Villa Aya on Praslin, in a Garden Villa. It was lovely accommodation with a very friendly and helpful host. The beach was just a short walk away, with a bus stop and shops nearby. There was also a lovely pool within the grounds. The villa was cleaned every day. Dinner could also be booked on request. Beach towels were provided in the room and changed regularly. Our highlight on Praslin was visiting Anse Georgette. We had obtained permission from the Constance Lemuria hotel in advance. After a walk of around 30 minutes past the resort’s golf course, you reach this dream beach. There is also a small beach bar with rather high prices.
Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or) is also well worth seeing. We also really enjoyed visiting Vallée de Mai National Park.

On La Digue, we had booked a lovely sea-view room at MT Seaside Apartments. Wonderful sunsets included. There was also a small beach at the accommodation. Ednise, the house manager, gave us some excellent tips. There were plenty of takeaway outlets nearby and a well-stocked grocery shop on the ground floor.
We cycled to the most beautiful beaches. We had booked our bicycles with Aria’s Rentals from Germany, and they were already waiting for us at the accommodation. Grand Anse is simply incredible. From there, we also hiked to Petite Anse. But be careful, as the current can be quite strong. A cycle ride east to Anse Banane is also worthwhile. There are lovely little coves where you can stop and relax. Or enjoy a delicious cocktail at Chez Jules and watch the tortoises relaxing...
You should not miss the chance to get close to the giant tortoises or visit one of the many excellent beach bars. But do not forget your water shoes.
We spent our final few days in the south of Mahé. The Maison Marikel accommodation was an absolute dream. There was a wonderful view of the sea from the balcony and delicious fruit from the owners’ garden. Our host gave us some excellent tips. The beaches at Port Launay North Beach and Anse Takamaka were our absolute highlights. The nearby Anse Royale is also very beautiful. It is also a good place for shopping, dining out and exchanging money.
Make sure you try the delicious fruit from the roadside fruit stalls. The food from the takeaway outlets is also highly recommended.
Once again, we had a wonderful holiday with SeyVillas. Everything was perfectly organised, and we returned to Germany with so many wonderful memories. A huge thank you for that. We would also like to give special praise to the dedicated Creole Travel staff. They were such warm and lovely people.
