Seychelles, A TRUE TROPICAL PARADISE!

My first flight to the Indian Ocean ‘brought’ me to the Seychelles. This archipelago is a true tropical PARADISE.

Praslin

Our stay began on Praslin. It was an action-packed week, and just a few days were enough to leave behind all the stress that had built up over the previous months and start enjoying the charm of this beautiful island.

Praslin – Cote D’OrPraslin – Cote D’Or

Beaches with fine white sand, crystal-clear waters, and the colours – simply breathtaking!! It is difficult to describe how this island makes you feel; you have to see it with your own eyes. Before leaving, I read reviews and looked at photos, but it is only when you are there, admiring it all, that you realise just how beautiful it is.

Of all the beaches, the ones that particularly impressed us were Anse Lazio, Anse Georgette (although it is not easy to reach), and Cote d’Or. The first two have a special charm. The sea is rougher here, but the waves make these beaches even more beautiful and great fun too; the green water and white waves create a truly unique sight. Cote d’Or, on the other hand, is much more peaceful. How would I describe it? Quiet, relaxing, with the whitest sand.

During this week, I also had the chance to discover the underwater world. We went diving a couple of times, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Seeing the ocean’s colourful fish and the corals was truly exciting and great fun.

You can hire a car on this island (highly recommended!!), and it is possible to tour the entire island in half a day. We stayed at the Hideawaz guesthouse: it was very welcoming, and the owner was very kind and always helpful.

La Digue

We spent our second week on La Digue, which I would describe as the pearl of the Seychelles. We stayed at Moonlight Beach Villa, which was very pleasant and, above all, in an excellent location. It is a very small island, with beautiful beaches and an interior covered in spectacular vegetation, home to countless species of plants and animals.

To explore the island, you need to hire a bicycle. Motor vehicles are only used by local people for work, but in my opinion, this makes the island even more enchanting, because you can appreciate and experience your surroundings more fully. The most distinctive beach is undoubtedly Anse Source d'Argent. What makes this beach so special is that, before reaching the sea, you pass through a wonderful garden where you can stop to watch the tortoises and admire tropical flowers being grown. The beach is famous for its granite boulders (worthy of a magazine cover!)

During our week on La Digue, the village festival was taking place, which is very important to the local people. As we wandered along the main streets, we could feel the festive atmosphere. Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, was dancing and singing. It was wonderful to see their traditions and taste the local dishes – they love their food very spicy. To make the most of each day, you need to get up early, so you do not miss anything!

What more can I say? The Seychelles are the perfect destination for anyone who loves nature. We will treasure every single moment of this wonderful holiday. I would like to thank SeyVillas, as they are a fantastic team: very kind and always helpful. Everything was perfect!
