A Tropical Dream in the Seychelles

We spent our first 5 nights on Praslin, an island that welcomed us with pristine white beaches, crystal-clear water and a relaxed atmosphere. Our accommodation was just a short walk from Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or), a long, peaceful beach that was perfect for a sunset stroll or an early-morning swim. During our stay, we made sure not to miss the island’s two most famous beaches: Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. Anse Lazio enchanted us with its turquoise waters and soft sand framed by granite rocks, while Anse Georgette, more secluded and less crowded, gave us a wonderful sense of exclusivity and complete tranquillity. Both look as though they have come straight from a tropical postcard and fully deserve their reputation. One of the highlights was a half-day tour arranged with the help of the accommodation staff. Our first stop was Curieuse Island, where we walked among free-roaming giant tortoises and discovered the unique mangrove ecosystem. We then continued to St. Pierre, a rocky islet that is perfect for snorkelling. Swimming among colourful fish and vibrant corals in incredibly clear water was a breathtaking experience, made even more enjoyable by the punctual and professional organisation.

After Praslin, we moved on to La Digue for 4 nights, an island with authentic charm where bicycles are the main mode of transport. Our accommodation was near Anse La Réunion, in the heart of the island, surrounded by small restaurants and traditional local venues that were ideal for sampling Creole cuisine or simply relaxing with a cocktail at sunset. As well as the famous Anse Source d'Argent, with its granite boulders sculpted by time, we also wanted to explore the east coast. One of our most exciting experiences was the short trek through the natural surroundings from Grand Anse to Anse Cocos. Winding through lush vegetation and offering glimpses of the sea, the trail led us to this wild and spectacular bay. Anse Cocos was perhaps the greatest surprise: secluded and unspoilt, with a small natural pool where we could relax among the rocks. It is a place you simply must not miss. Each day on La Digue followed the island’s slow, pleasant rhythm: leisurely bicycle rides, encounters with smiling local people, the sea all around us and sunsets that looked as though they had been painted.
