Seaweed: The trade winds between December and March will wash up some seaweed on the beach of this accommodation. This may make the water a little cloudy but also provides yet more evidence that the underwater world around the Seychelles is in top health.

The hotel was the nicest of the three accommodations. Everyone was very friendly. Breakfast and dinner were served in the beautiful garden. Unfortunately, we were only warned about the stingrays, but no one explained how to move safely into the water. Only after it was too late (my girlfriend was stung by a stingray on November 1st, the very first day) did we learn that you should shuffle into the water and brush the sand aside or in front of you. There was a sign on the beach saying they were harmless. But they are anything but, if you touch them. There are a lot of stingrays at Anse Volbert; they burrow into the sand and are invisible in the murky water, especially the white ones. And they lay their eggs there... The staff was very helpful and took us to the hospital, but unfortunately, no antibiotics were given, so a week later my foot became badly infected. Our room had water damage, but we were able to stay in a beautiful villa for one night. And as compensation, they organized a fantastic birthday dinner for me at the beach restaurant.
Translation (DE): GoogleTranslateWe had the pleasure of staying at Le Duc Hotel on Praslin, unfortunately only for four nights, during our island-hopping trip to the Seychelles. Our short stay left a lasting impression, and we can honestly say that Le Duc was the best hotel for us in the Seychelles. From the warm welcome upon our arrival to our departure, our stay was truly outstanding. The hotel is designed with great attention to detail, creating a welcoming and luxurious atmosphere. The evening lighting enhances the relaxed mood. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, with a terrace, and our terrace overlooked the garden. The food was also very good, although we are not usually buffet lovers. The variety and quality of the dishes was very good, accompanied by a fairly good wine selection. Unlike many other restaurants in the Seychelles, Le Duc offered current and new vintages, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was excellent; all the staff were always very friendly and accommodating. Robert, the friendly owner, came to the tables every evening, adding a personal touch. The location of Le Duc is ideal, with the beautiful Cote d'Or beach just a stone's throw away. The hotel's Café des Arts is great for a relaxed lunch, and the bar/lounge area offers the opportunity for a sundowner. We used the hotel's spa once. A small highlight was the monthly beach party with several DJs, dancing, food, and drinks. The event was attended by both tourists and locals and was a great event. Overall, our stay at Le Duc Hotel was truly fantastic, and we highly recommend it. The combination of excellent service, a fantastic location, excellent food, and amenities makes for an unforgettable experience. Anyone visiting Praslin should put Le Duc Hotel at the top of their list.
