Our Seychelles adventure began with the flight to Praslin. Thanks to SeyVillas’ recommendation, we had a fantastic hotel, Le Duc de Praslin, and spent the first day of our Seychelles holiday on its beautiful beach. We explored Praslin in every possible way: by car, we drove around the entire island as far as Terrasse sur Lazio. While snorkelling at Anse Lazio, we saw not only beautiful corals but even sea turtles. On foot, we explored the palm forest in Vallée de Mai. A boat took us to Curieuse Island, where we saw giant tortoises, enjoyed a wonderful hike and were treated to a delicious barbecue. We then continued to St Pierre, where we spotted an octopus while snorkelling. It was a truly impressive tour!

When we arrived on La Digue by ferry, we went straight to see the ‘most beautiful beach in the world’ –Anse Source d'Argent– to satisfy our curiosity. The beach certainly lives up to its reputation and is well worth a visit. It consists of several small coves connected by a path winding through palms and rocks. Fresh fruit and coconuts were sold at various spots along the way.
Another highlight on La Digue was the tour through the jungle to Anse Marron, where our guides, Etienne and Dave, prepared a fruit platter for us. Afterwards, we made our way back through the water. We also cycled to Grand Anse and hiked from there to Anse Cocos. Here, we could buy delicious smoothies made with fresh fruit right on the beach. As the waves on this side of the island were too high for swimming, we were grateful to cool off in the natural pool. These two tours allowed us to see many of La Digue’s beaches, and we came to the conclusion that La Digue had our favourite beaches. On Mahé, we stayed at STORY Seychelles. It was truly lovely and offered plenty of leisure activities: we could snorkel on the house reef, took part in a yoga session and even tried scuba diving in the hotel pool. We also spent a day exploring the island by car and stopped at places such as the Michael Adams Gallery. During this little excursion, we came across the Morne Blanc Trail, and after climbing it, we were rewarded with panoramic views across the entire island. As we did not eat at our hotel on Mahé, we were able to try a new restaurant every evening. Our best meal was at the Indian Mahek Restaurant (Coral Strand Hotel), although we also enjoyed some excellent Creole food. This island was very different from the others, but visiting it was just as memorable. Our trip was truly a dream holiday! Thanks to the excellent planning by SeyVillas, we had no stress at all during the trip, and everything went smoothly. We never had to worry about travelling from one island or hotel to the next. We will remember this wonderfully varied holiday forever. There is only one thing left to say: a trip to the Seychelles is well worth it!
