A Taste of Paradise

For several years, we had dreamt of discovering the Seychelles and their magnificent, postcard-perfect beaches. This time, we finally made it happen and organised our trip with SeyVillas. We wanted to stay on all three islands: Mahé, La Digue and Praslin. We selected our accommodation on SeyVillas.com and entrusted Créole Travel Services with our land and sea transfers. We returned home delighted with the service provided by both companies.

Once again, a big thank you for their warm welcome, kindness and punctuality.

Anse Sorce D´ArgentAnse Sorce D´Argent

We had wonderful weather during our stay, although the sun is extremely strong and the water temperature approaches 30°C. The day before our departure, the weather took a slight turn: the sky remained grey, with occasional tropical showers cooling the air.

The locals are very friendly and always happy to chat with us. Seychellois Creole is lovely to listen to, while French and English are also widely spoken.

Mahé

On Mahé, we stayed in Beau Vallon for its tourist amenities and its beautiful, long, white-sand beach fringed with coconut palms and takamaka trees.

We also enjoyed strolling through the old streets of Victoria, with their traditional Creole houses featuring canopies and decorative openwork balconies, and discovering the famous Clock Tower, the Hindu temple and the bustle of the covered market...

La Digue

On La Digue, we stayed in La Passe, close to the jetty. Life here has a wonderfully unhurried pace, with few cars and the occasional ox cart, but above all, it is a cyclist’s paradise. Like the locals, we explored by bicycle and marvelled at Anse Source d'Argent, with its coves surrounded by imposing pink granite boulders.

We also loved several other equally remarkable coves, including Anse Patates, Grand Anse and Anse Cocos. The sunsets here are magical, and every evening we made our way to the beach to enjoy the soft light.

Praslin

On Praslin, we stayed close to the majestic bay of Anse Volbert. We travelled around the island on Tata buses, discovering exceptional beaches such as Anse Lazio and Anse Boudin.

Curieuse, St Pierre IsletCurieuse, St Pierre Islet

A visit to the unmissable Vallée de Mai is essential. We were amazed by this cathedral of palm leaves and lush greenery, home to the Seychelles’ most iconic tree: the coco de mer palm and its famous suggestively shaped nut, one of the most astonishing curiosities in the plant world.

Bird lovers will delight in spotting red fodies, sunbirds feeding on flowers, fairy terns, Seychelles paradise flycatchers and many other species, most of them close enough to photograph.

There are still many more treasures to discover across the archipelago, and we hope to return one day.
