A spectacular holiday amid stunning natural beauty
Our journey began on Saturday, 22 April, as we made our way to Milan Malpensa. Our flight to Dubai departed right on time. Needless to say, our fear of the flight, which was certainly not a short one, soon gave way to excitement, curiosity and happiness at setting off on this adventure. Even there, we could already feel that we were on holiday as we took in the sheer size and variety of the airport. At around 6 a.m., upon arriving in Mahé, a bus was waiting to take us to the harbour, where we would then set sail for the beautiful island of La Digue, our final destination.

Shortly after landing, and just a few hundred metres away, we reached the lovely Hostellerie La Digue guesthouse, a small villa with three bedrooms and a large, beautiful garden full of exotic plants. Colourful little birds chirped all around us and, showing no fear, came closer out of curiosity. After a few hours’ rest, we hired bicycles to make exploring the island quicker and less tiring, then went to relax on a nearby beach and enjoy our first swim.

On Monday the 24th, we began our day with a visit to Anse Source d'Argent, a beautiful beach reached by following a path through avenues filled with plants and wildlife, as well as an old residence. The beach looked almost like a painting, with striking colours: the brilliant white sand contrasted with the granite rocks rising boldly from it, emphasising the difference between the light and dark tones.

On the second day of our stay, we visited Grand Anse, Petite Anse and Anse Cocos. Once again, nature treated us to its beautiful colours and breathtaking views.
We then visited Anse Patates, Anse Severe and Anse Fourmis, and, of course, our impressions were just as positive as before.

On the fifth day, after visiting Anse Severe, we decided to go on a short dive between the islands of Félicité and Marianne. Once again, the flora and fauna offered us breathtaking colours and sights.

On Friday the 28th, we chose a short tour of Sisters, Coco and Félicité islands, spending time admiring the underwater scenery and enjoying a barbecue with the group we shared the excursion with. During our final two days, we returned to some of the beaches we had already visited, yet we still found something new to notice each time.

On our final morning, we travelled to Mahé to visit the botanical gardens, which were filled with beautiful flowers and plants, accompanied by the melodious birdsong and the rustling of leaves. At the end of the day, feeling very wistful, we made our way to the airport to catch the flight that would soon take us back to Italy…
Special thanks to SeyVillas for the impeccable organisation, which allowed us to see these wonderful places and make a little dream come true!
