Family Holiday on Praslin & La Digue

Hello, my name is Vladimir, I am 31 years old and come from near Münster. I am delighted to tell you about our dream holiday in the Seychelles.

My wife, our 11-year-old son and I had been looking forward to this holiday for a long time. It was our first holiday in the Seychelles. The long flight from Düsseldorf to Victoria (Mahé) went according to plan and was very smooth. We even managed to sleep for a while. The flight took around 10 hours in total.
When we arrived at the airport, our tour representative was already waiting for us and escorted us to our bus. The bus then took us to the harbour, where we caught the ferry across to the island of Praslin. The crossing took around 1 hour.

Praslin

Slightly tired but also relieved to have completed the long journey, we arrived at our hotel, the Berjaya Praslin Resort. We were able to check into our room straight away. It was lovely, clean and spacious. Although we had not booked one, we were given a family room. Our son had his own bedroom and bathroom. But resting was out of the question, so we headed straight to Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or) beach.
And there it was!!! A snow-white sandy beach lined with palm trees and turquoise water... an absolute dream!

I had done some research online beforehand and came across a company called Edelweis Tours. I booked a full-day, German-language island tour from home and was very curious to see whether everything would work out. On the day of the tour, we were collected from our hotel right on time. First, we drove straight to the Constance Lémuria Resort. From there, we walked along the golf course to Anse Georgette. Anse Georgette is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Praslin, and I can certainly confirm that. After a quick photo session, we climbed the surrounding hills, where we enjoyed the wonderful views from above. We took some enchanting photos there too.

Praslin really is beautiful. Our highlights were the magnificent Anse Lazio, Anse Georgette and Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve. Sadly, after 5 nights we had to leave the island, as our adventure was continuing on La Digue for the next 7 days.

La Digue

On La Digue, we stayed at the Buisson Guest House. The accommodation was lovely and clean. We had only booked breakfast, which was excellent. Every day, there was exotic fruit, freshly made pancakes, eggs, homemade jam and toast.
La Digue is an island of bicycles, so we hired bikes too. By bike, we could travel from one beach to another in just a few minutes.
We visited every beach on our itinerary, and I cannot say which was the most beautiful. They are all stunning!

Conclusion It was a wonderful and unforgettable journey. We gathered so many different impressions in a relatively short time. We saw and experienced a great deal and had nothing but positive experiences. The Seychelles are a wonderful destination and are also very suitable for children. We will be back!
