Dream Holiday in the Seychelles

Planning our holiday

In February last year, we visited the Seychelles for the first time. We enjoyed it so much that we wanted to return to the islands in February this year.
As the planning and the trip itself had gone very smoothly last year, we booked with SeyVillas again. We arranged the flights ourselves, flying directly with Condor from Frankfurt to Mahé and back.
As the wait between our flight’s arrival and the ferry’s departure for Mahé would have been too long, we decided to fly to Praslin.

We chose the same accommodation as last year: the Berjaya Praslin Resort on Praslin, Pension Michel on La Digue and Row's Villa on Mahé.

Arrival in the Seychelles

We arrived in Mahé early, at 6.00 am, to glorious sunshine, pleasant temperatures and a beautiful view of the mountains behind the airport. We quickly changed into our holiday attire: shorts and T-shirts.
We made our connecting flight without any trouble. Our luggage was checked in, including our cabin bag, as there was very little space in the small aircraft. We flew at an altitude of around 1 km and had excellent views.
When we arrived on Praslin, however, we had to wait for the fourth flight from Mahé, as our three pieces of luggage had been divided between three aircraft. The same thing happened to another couple. We decided it was better to wait and then take the bus to the hotel once all our luggage had arrived.

4 days on Praslin

After the confusion at the airport, we were pleased to finally reach our hotel. We received another very warm welcome and were soon able to settle into our room.
Once again, we organised our excursions ourselves. The bus network is very good. Departure times are approximate: the bus may arrive early, but it can also be half an hour late. We returned to Anse Lazio.

It is a lovely place to start a holiday, with plenty of shade, crystal-clear water and a beautifully sandy seabed. One excursion took us to Curieuse Island. On the beach, some friendly locals approached us and offered us a boat trip there. Around 300 tortoises roam freely on the island.

5 days on La Digue

We then took the Cat Cocos ferry to our next island, La Digue, and the lovely Pension Michel. We received a very warm welcome, our room was once again decorated with hibiscus flowers, and breakfast was prepared with great care.

We had originally planned to explore Mahé in a car hired through SeyVillas. However, things turned out differently. We waited in vain for our hire car. The scheduled delivery to Row's Villa at 5.00 pm did not happen. At 5.30 pm, we called our Creole representative, who promised to look into it and speak to the car hire company. The car never arrived. We hoped it would be delivered the following day, but it was not. Once we were back home, contacting SeyVillas was straightforward. However, the Creole representative claimed that we had not informed her that the car had not been delivered. The money was refunded immediately.
We therefore travelled by bus again and enjoyed some lovely trips around the island. Anse Intendance was magnificent, although the currents make it dangerous from April until autumn, as was Anse Royale.

Conclusion

Once again, we spent some wonderful days in the Seychelles. The accommodation was excellent, and we would like to thank the friendly and consistently helpful staff. Many thanks also to the dedicated Creole team.
We recommend SeyVillas because the planning was once again excellent, our requests were taken into account and we received helpful advice over the telephone.
