To the Seychelles and Back

On 24 March 2018, we finally set off on our holiday to the Seychelles. A great dream came true for us. Our expectations were very high, but they were more than exceeded. First of all, enormous praise must go to the entire SeyVillas team – everything went smoothly both before and during our trip. Hoping to escape the grey, cold weather in Germany at last, we arrived on Mahé early in the morning on 25 March 2018: blue skies, sunshine and warm temperatures – we felt as though our holiday had begun the moment we arrived at the airport.

Mahé

Our first accommodation was The Beach House on Mahé.
The Beach House, Beau VallonThe Beach House, Beau Vallon Lovely, cosy rooms, a very large bathroom and an incredibly delicious breakfast. The Beach House is right by the beach and the beautiful bay of Beau Vallon Beach, with restaurants and takeaways within walking distance. However, it was our host Cecile who made our stay truly special: always smiling, always cheerful and always ready with tips and advice… so once again, a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Cecile and the entire team!!! We really cannot recommend The Beach House highly enough. Nowhere else in the world have I ever seen sunsets as beautiful as those on Beau Vallon beach. You simply never tire of the view.

Sunset on MahéSunset on Mahé Although Beau Vallon offers an excellent beach and crystal-clear water, it is definitely worth hiring a car and ‘driving around’ the island. Mahé is simply beautiful and has so many wonderful beaches to discover. One beach remains particularly memorable for us: Anse Intendance! A place of complete peace and relaxation, where the sea shimmers in every shade and the sand is as soft as powder. An absolute dream beach.

Praslin

On 31 March, we continued by ferry to Praslin. On Praslin, we stayed at Le Tropique . This accommodation also left nothing to be desired: our apartment was fantastic. It had a large bedroom, a spacious bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside, we could relax on the sun loungers on our private terrace. Simply wonderful! Therese, our host, was always helpful and very kind. It is a lovely property right on Grand Anse. We also hired a car here to explore the island. We did plenty of snorkelling and had our first encounters with sea turtles, rays and small reef sharks! For us, this was one of the most wonderful experiences of our time in the Seychelles. We would definitely recommend booking a snorkelling tour here. The tour takes you to various spots, where you have plenty of time to snorkel. During the boat trip, our guide also gave us lots of information about the surrounding smaller islands, such as St Pierre, Sister Island, Coco Island and Felicite Island…

For us, the most beautiful beach on Praslin is Anse Lazio. A dreamlike bay! White, powder-soft sand, a gently sloping seabed, no large waves, palm trees and crystal-clear water… we felt at home here straight away.

We travelled by ferry from Mahé to Praslin, although flying is also an option. The airport was 2 km from our Le Tropique villa.

Wherever we went in the Seychelles, we were always welcomed with a friendly smile, and the local people were very helpful. We have travelled extensively, experienced a great deal and generally visit each place only once. When it comes to the Seychelles, however, we both agree: we will definitely return! Unfortunately, the time passed far too quickly, but we often look back on all the wonderful moments and experiences. At the end of the trip, my boyfriend proposed to me – so the journey could not have ended any better! Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this dream come true for us!
