We had been looking forward to this trip for a long time, and at the end of September it was finally time to set off. We flew from Frankfurt via Doha to Mahé. The Qatar Airways flights passed very quickly, and the service was excellent. After landing on Mahé, we continued straight away on a small propeller plane to Mahé. The departure time had been delayed by 1.5 hours, which was a little disappointing. The 15-minute flight also turned into something of an adventure, as we flew straight through a rain shower. Unfortunately, this meant we missed out on the views we had been hoping for. On Praslin, we were taken straight to our accommodation, Chez Bea Villa, where we spent the next 6 days. We received a very warm welcome, were shown around the apartment straight away and also had a hire car available to us. We could hire it for €40 per day. It was almost new, and the accommodation’s cars were always very well maintained. The accommodation itself has several very spacious apartments, with more than enough room for 2 or even 4 people. We had booked breakfast and were served a lovely, varied breakfast every day.
Our highlights on Praslin were:
-Anse Lazio in the morning. We had this gorgeous beach entirely to ourselves. The Honesty Bar at the far left-hand end is highly recommended. It is run by a German woman and has a wonderfully rustic feel.

-On Saturday, there was a street food festival on the beach on Praslin, with lots of stalls run by well-known hotels. For very little money (SCR 50 per dish or cocktail), you could sample all sorts of things and celebrate with the locals. It really was a fantastic evening!
-Vallée de Mai. This is particularly recommended on a rainy day, as the enormous palm leaves keep you dry. We had actually planned to visit Ford Ferdinand Park, but it is closed on rainy days.
In the Vallée de Mai
-Anse Georgette is also beautiful. However, you must register with the Lemuria Hotel in advance; otherwise, you are not allowed to cross the hotel grounds. On the beach itself, you can buy fruit and coconuts from local people. If you walk uphill for about 3 minutes from the right-hand side of the beach, you will pass two swings with a fantastic view over the bay. There is also an absolutely beautiful viewpoint at tee number 15 on the hotel’s golf course. You can see as far as the airport and Anse Kerlan. You do have to make your way through some undergrowth, but the route is signposted.
-For a good meal, visit Le Lauriers. For SCR 500, they serve a fantastic Creole buffet in a lovely setting.
-It is also well worth visiting some of the lesser-known beaches, as you will usually have them entirely to yourself.
After 6 days on Praslin, we continued to La Digue. The weather during the first week was very changeable and unusual for that time of year, so we were all the happier when the sun came out for us on La Digue. Our accommodation was Hostellerie La Digue. It is in a very central location, and everyone has their own spacious bungalow. We had also booked breakfast here, which was served on our terrace every day. It lacked a little variety, but they did make an effort. The furnishings are rustic and simple. It could have been a little cleaner, but otherwise there was nothing to complain about. We could also hire bicycles directly from the property at a reasonable price.
Our highlights on La Digue:
La Digue itself is an absolute highlight and, for us, the most beautiful island. Cycling around is very relaxing, the people are open and friendly, and it is simply a wonderful place.
-We hiked to Anse Marron with a guide, and it is absolutely beautiful. You also learn a great deal about the island and its wildlife, how to open coconuts and much more. You climb over enormous rocks and wade through the water – simply fantastic!
-Anse Cocos, beyond Grand Anse and Petit Anse, is also beautiful. At the far end of Anse Cocos
there is a natural pool where it is always possible to swim. There are only a few visitors, perhaps because it takes around 40 minutes to hike to the beach. The Maps app helps you find the right route!

-Anse Source d'Argent is, of course, beautiful! If you go snorkelling there at high tide, you can see turtles coming across the outer reef to feed. The fruit juices and cocktails from the beach stalls are also highly recommended and cost between SCR 100–125. The prices are the same across the entire island!

-The best meal we had was at the restaurant up on the hill, Snack Bellevue. You need to book in advance, and a taxi will then take you up there. The view is incredible, and the menu is absolutely delicious.

Afterwards, the taxi takes you back to your accommodation. It was a truly wonderful evening!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Seychelles and would happily have stayed longer. Visiting 2 islands was ideal and quite enough for us. You experience so much in such a short time. We will certainly return and spend a few days on Mahé next time. When booking, it is also worth making sure that you spend your final day on Mahé. We had to leave La Digue at midday even though our flight was not until 6.30 pm. If we had been on Mahé, we could have enjoyed the rest of the day there… In the evening, when the sun goes down, you often get bitten by insects. We had brought Anti Brumm with us, which helped a little.
We were very pleased with the organisation by SeyVillas and always had someone available to contact. Everything worked without any problems! We had an unforgettable time!!!
