A Wonderful Stay in the Seychelles

We arrived on the island of Mahé on Sunday, 6 January, and stayed for the whole week at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay. The property is a little dated, but certainly offers good value for money, particularly as it is located not far from the port and airport, where the various excursions depart from.
On Tuesday, following the recommendation of the Creole representative who also assisted us with our transfers to and from the airport, we hired a car with a driver. He first took us around the capital, Victoria, where we stopped at the picturesque Sir Selwyn Selwyn Clarke Market and visited monuments, the museum and so on.
We then ventured into the island’s interior before visiting some of its most distinctive beaches, which we thought were stunning.

When we reached this white-sand beach, with very few people around, we were amazed by its beauty.

After a short stop at Grand Anse beach, we arrived at Port Glaud, which was busier and more touristy, but still very beautiful. A deep-sea fishing boat had also arrived, and the fishermen were cleaning their catch on the beach, which was very interesting to watch.

Here at Anse Takamaka beach, we stopped for about an hour to bask in the sunshine and admire yet another fabulous stretch of white sand.

Finally, we reached Anse Royale beach, which I consider the most beautiful and distinctive on the island… it is picture-postcard perfect; there are no other words for it.

We simply had to take a selfie in this magnificent picture-postcard setting.

On Wednesday, again through the Creole representative, we booked a Starfish catamaran excursion to explore Moyenne Island. We boarded at the port of Victoria and soon reached the island just offshore. Once ashore, we were able to admire a population of giant tortoises roaming completely freely. Afterwards, using the equipment provided on the boat, we went snorkelling over the beautiful reef in the marine park.

On Friday, we simply could not miss a visit to La Digue, which in our opinion is the most beautiful and most photographed island in the Seychelles.
We travelled there by speedboat to Praslin and then by ferry, with a total journey time of an hour and a half. We recommend hiring bicycles to get around the island.

Unfortunately, our holiday ended far too soon, but we returned home delighted to have visited such a wonderful place, unlike anywhere we had ever been before.
We recommend that everyone should stay in these beautiful islands at least once in their lifetime, even if only for a short time.

Special thanks to SeyVillas for making all of this possible!
