Honeymoon in Paradise

We chose the Seychelles as the destination for our honeymoon and could not have been happier. The beauty of this place revealed itself to us as soon as we arrived at the airport, when we caught sight of the turquoise water beside the runway. We had booked our transfer in advance through SeyVillas, and everything went quickly and smoothly. During the journey from the airport to the jetty, we admired the lush green vegetation passing by outside the window.

Once we arrived at the jetty, we spent the time waiting for the ferry at a nearby restaurant and in a small park, where we marvelled at a lizard, a hummingbird and the beautiful frangipani blossoms.

FrangipaniFrangipani Before long, we continued by ferry to Praslin, where a taxi from the transfer service took us directly to our beautiful accommodation – Villa Admiral. The owners gave us a warm welcome and handed us the key to the wonderful villa right on the beach. We were more than happy with the accommodation, and our garden, which was the beach itself, enchanted us anew every day and every night.

Along the way, we also spotted our first tortoises. We took things very easy on the second day as well and simply enjoyed our wonderful private beach garden. On the third day, we began exploring Praslin by bus. We visited Vallée de Mai National Park, learnt about the Coco de Mer and travelled to Cote D'Or, where we swam in the shallow water before dining at a restaurant right on the beach. On the fourth day, we explored more of the island, travelled to Anse Blague and then shortly afterwards returned to Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or) beach. On the fifth day, we visited Anse Georgette, where we had great fun playing in the waves.

Once we arrived on La Digue, we hired bicycles and cycled to Anse Source d'Argent – an incredible beach! We found the granite rocks particularly beautiful, and the entire beach had a magical atmosphere. Afterwards, we continued along the road as far as Pointe Grand Anse on the eastern side of the island and were fascinated by the large bats flying through the air. In the evening, we took the ferry back to our accommodation on Praslin. On the seventh day, we travelled by boat to Curieuse to see the giant tortoises – it was a wonderful finale.

We felt a little sad as we set off for the airport, as we had enjoyed the Seychelles so much that we would gladly have stayed longer. At the same time, however, we felt happy, content and relaxed, and were grateful to have enjoyed such a wonderful honeymoon. One day, we would love to return...
