Happiness Lies in the Simple Things

Davide and I chose the Seychelles for our honeymoon.

Landing on Mahé was a rush of emotions. Our plane from sweltering Dubai touched down gently on a runway surrounded by brilliant colours.
A sense of wonder mixed with gratitude stayed with us throughout the 15 days we spent in this extraordinary place.

Our itinerary included 3 destinations – Praslin, La Digue and Mahé – and each stop gave us unique moments to treasure.
The island that stayed in our hearts was La Digue: an explosion of colour and breathtaking scenery.
In particular, Anse Source d'Argent, with its powder-fine sand and granite rocks, left us truly amazed!

And Anse Cocos, a glorious celebration of every shade of green, with wild, untamed vegetation.

There is no need for cars or buses to get around La Digue, as its 10 km² can be explored by bicycle while enjoying views of the ocean all around and picture-postcard sunsets.

We also chose a full-day excursion to discover the small islands of Coco, Félicité, Grande Soeur and Petite Soeur .
Our snorkelling trips revealed an incredible variety of marine life, especially sea turtles !

As for the food, Creole cuisine offers a wonderful selection of delicious dishes . Flavourful combinations of fish, vegetables and savoury sauces; fresh fruit and, of course, coconut water to sip in the shade of a palm tree, perhaps at Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or) on Praslin.

A special mention must go to the accommodation we booked through SeyVillas.
For our stay on Praslin, we stayed at a beautiful guest house overlooking the ocean, Sea View Lodge, while on La Digue and Mahé we chose 2 equally wonderful hotels, Patatran and Avani Barbarons Seychelles Resort.
Our stay in the Seychelles was undoubtedly so relaxing not only because of the excursions, the dreamlike sea and the indescribable natural surroundings, but also because, after each long day, we could return to comfortable accommodation.

The welcome on every island was always attentive, yet never intrusive. We always met friendly, discreet people who were ready to help whenever we asked for information!
The places we explored provided the perfect backdrop to these peaceful days and our reconnection with nature . Indeed, here in the Seychelles, nature reveals itself in all its majesty and beauty.

It is a beauty sustained by a fragile balance that each of us has a responsibility to protect and preserve.
I will never forget the sheer abundance of marine life we encountered during one snorkelling trip; it was so beautiful that it moved me deeply.
The endless stretches of powder-fine white sand, the crystal-clear, vibrant sea and the warm sunshine gently carried us through this incredible experience.

When I returned home, I understood more strongly than ever that happiness lies in the simplest things: a sincere handshake, meeting clear, carefree eyes and allowing yourself to be swept away by a breathtaking star-filled sky.
Embracing the person you love and gazing out at the endless blue.
