The Ultimate Dream Holiday in the Seychelles
Our holiday in the Seychelles in September 2023 was truly a dream. We stayed on four islands in total and visited many more during our trip. We began our holiday on Praslin, staying at Villa Aya.
When we arrived at the accommodation, we were delighted to find not only a pool but also a spacious, comfortably furnished apartment with a wonderful view of trees covered in hibiscus and starfruit. The staff and owners were exceptionally friendly, so we were able to settle down and relax during the first few days of our holiday. Praslin really has a great deal to offer: its own coconut factory, a black pearl farm and secluded, picture-perfect beaches. Our two favourites were Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette
We then continued to La Digue and Pension Hibiscus, where we were welcomed with a drink on arrival. The island is explored almost entirely by bicycle, and cars are only seen in exceptional cases. We really enjoyed discovering the island in such a relaxed way. We also made frequent stops at various beach bars and restaurants along the way.

One highlight was Chez Jules, which offers a wonderful view of the sea, as well as Karim Bar, where we enjoyed plenty of local juices and smoothies on the beach while listening to laid-back playlists. As well as its many beaches, the Seychelles offers magnificent rainforest landscapes.

One day, we took a guided tour to Anse Marron. We squeezed our way through the granite rocks and followed various jungle trails, which was simply breathtaking. At the end, we were rewarded with a natural pool that was also ideal for snorkelling.
We spent the final week of our three-week holiday first on Mahe, staying at La Villa Therese Holiday Apartments. The accommodation was absolutely enormous, with two bedrooms, a large kitchen, a spacious living room and more. Once again, we received an exceptionally warm welcome. As well as visiting Anse Soleil, which is definitely worth seeing, we also spent several enjoyable hours at Takamaka Rum Distillery , an absolute must on Mahe. Alongside delicious drinks and food, there is an entertaining tour of the distillery. Afterwards, we even took part in a rum tasting, where we were able to sample the different Takamaka varieties.
We spent the last few days of our holiday at Surf Tropical Villa (Takamaka Beach Villas) on Cerf. Cerf is a very small island with neither cars nor bicycles. Instead, almost every accommodation has canoes that guests can borrow free of charge.
We would highly recommend canoeing around the island, which takes approximately 1.5 hours. During the trip, we encountered small rays, red starfish, leaping fish and crystal-clear blue water.
There are only 11 places to stay on Cerf in total. This makes it the perfect place to reflect on the previous weeks of our holiday and relax once more.
For us, the holiday was a complete success, and we are very glad that we chose to go island hopping in the Seychelles. Every island truly has its own charm, and we had enough time to discover what made each one special. Looking back, we would say that, alongside its many dream beaches and breathtaking scenery, the Seychelles stands out above all for the friendliness of its islanders. Throughout our entire trip, we received a warm welcome not only at our accommodation but also from people we met in the streets, on the beaches and elsewhere. Everyone greeted us warmly and helped us with even the smallest question.
