We thought long and hard about taking this trip, as a 22-year-old woman travelling with my 58-year-old aunt, we are not exactly typical visitors to the Seychelles. Yet, surrounded by all the honeymooners and couples, we did not regret taking this trip for a single second.
SeyVillas made the entire trip stress-free, so we did not have to worry about a thing. Everything ran smoothly from the very first contact. Every transfer, every check-in and check-out, every activity and everything else we booked was taken care of. Whenever we had questions before, during or after the trip, someone was always available promptly and every question was answered straight away.
When we arrived, the travel agency took us directly to our first hotel, the Savoy Resort & Spa.
It is a beautiful hotel complex with exceptionally friendly service, where you cannot help but feel at ease. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet, and for our other meals we could walk along the promenade and try a wide variety of culinary experiences. We sampled everything from Indian and Italian to Creole cuisine. In the afternoons, we would pick up a fresh coconut from the beach bar and end the day there with a stunning sunset. Savoy, Mahé
We booked a private shuttle to show us around the entire island for a day. The driver was very attentive and proudly showed us his island, giving us cultural insights into the history of the Seychelles. Among other things, we bought perfume made from the distinctive Coco de Mer nut. Otherwise, we spent our first few days on Mahé relaxing at the resort. We were able to completely unwind on the picturesque beach in front of the hotel.
After four nights, we were collected directly from the hotel after breakfast and taken to the ferry. Once again, we did not need to worry about anything, as the tickets had already been arranged. The journey to La Digue took around an hour. As soon as we arrived, we were again collected from the ferry and taken to our hotel. At Chateau Saint Cloud, we also received a very warm welcome, with a small welcome drink and an introduction to the island and the hotel.
As is customary on La Digue, we hired bicycles for our stay. Over the following three days, we used them to explore the entire island. The distances were neither long nor strenuous, as the island is relatively small. The hotel was quite simple and offered a small breakfast, but it was perfectly adequate.Anse Fourmis, La Digue
Although we managed to explore everything during our three days there, I would have loved to stay longer. La Digue was the place that captivated me most. It is impossible to describe the way of life there. The locals gave us the warmest welcome, and the beaches were a dream.
The beach said to be the most beautiful in the world, which I explored by glass kayak, was indeed lovely, but my personal favourites were Grand Anse, Petite Anse and Anse Cocos. There is even a natural pool at Anse Cocos, which was another highlight. Anse Source d'Argent, La DigueAbove all, however, what I loved about La Digue was the warmth of the local people and the wonderfully stress-free atmosphere.
On La Digue, we enjoyed the sunset dinner at Belle Vue. The view was priceless, and the food was delicious and traditional. Natural poolCatamaran tour
After three nights, we were collected again and taken to the ferry. Following a 15-minute crossing, we arrived on Praslin, the final island of our trip. The Hotel Cote D'Or Lodge was also beautiful and the perfect place to round off our holiday. Every wish was catered for.
With our beachfront view and room, we could walk barefoot straight into the sea. Breakfast offered plenty of variety, the staff were very attentive, and the evening buffet was wonderful too. The manager personally welcomed every guest, and we felt as though we were part of the family.
The only downside to this holiday was how quickly it came to an end. Looking back, I would have booked a longer stay on La Digue, but otherwise I would do everything exactly the same again. We will definitely be taking our next trip to the Seychelles soon.
