The Chateau St. Cloud offers unbeatable value for money considering the quality of the estate. As one of the few 'real' hotels on La Digue, the upscale estate offers a lot to guests, with 24 spacious rooms housed in beautiful colonial-style buildings. The grounds of the Chateau were once used as a coconut plantation, but these days they form the surroundings of this special hotel, reminiscent of a time long ago when La Digue was perhaps more peaceful than in modern times.
The hotel is located in a vast tropical garden that contains a number of native Seychelles plant species. The whole estate forms part of the small coastal village of Anse Réunion, which lies within walking distance of the eponymous beach, famous for its stunning sunset views, where the sun disappears behind Praslin, lighting up the sky with an amazing display of colours. Thankfully, La Digue's other beaches are just as picturesque, and most can be reached swiftly by bike thanks to the Chateau St. Cloud's central location. The most famous beach of these is probably Anse Source d'Argent, which is consistently named as one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole world.
The Chateau St. Cloud offers much to its guests, including a large pool at the heart of a tropical garden. There is also a restaurant, well-known throughout the island for its delicious food and casual, colourful atmosphere. We'd recommend booking half board at the hotel so you can experience it for yourself.

We had booked the superior rooms with half board. The hotel was very quiet and beautifully located. Our rooms were newly renovated and very clean. Great view from the room, as it was on an elevated level. The breakfast buffet did not meet our expectations, e.g. one type of cheese (slices), always the same type of sausage, no fish, etc. Dinner was varied. There was always a four-course menu.
