Sailing Adventure Meets Beach Perfection: Our 18-Day Seychelles Trip
Seychelles Island Paradise
Starting Out on Mahé
Our Seychelles trip began on the main island of Mahé, where we spent 4 nights at Blue Lagoon. Our penthouse suite with a private whirlpool was the ideal place to settle in at our own pace and get used to island life.

Directly outside our door was Anse à la Mouche beach. It was a wonderful place to watch the ebb and flow of the tides. Although this beach is not particularly suitable for swimming, we often enjoyed long walks by the water.
Exploring the Island
With our guide Collin, we explored Victoria, the smallest capital city in the world. We saw the miniature Big Ben, strolled through the colourful market and visited the iconic temple. Other highlights included the Coco de Mer perfumery and the Takamaka rum distillery. We would thoroughly recommend both as stops on the island. In the afternoon, we explored the south at the Cap Lazare Nature Reserve. We were treated to a delightful lunch, breathtaking views and giant tortoises – the perfect end to our time on Mahé

Our Catamaran Adventure
After 5 days, it was time for a complete change of scenery. The next chapter of our honeymoon began: a 7-day sailing tour aboard a catamaran. Unfortunately, the cabins on board were very uncomfortable – a minor drawback that sometimes has to be accepted on a trip like this – but the experience more than made up for it

We went snorkelling at some of the best spots in the Seychelles, surrounded by shimmering shoals of fish and coral reefs. One particular highlight was the underwater world around Coco Island and Felicité. While snorkelling there, we encountered several sea turtles and even small sharks, while dolphins could be seen in the distance
The Grand Finale on La Digue
After our intense sailing experience, however, we were genuinely looking forward to the peace and beauty of what we found to be the most impressive island in the Seychelles: La Digue. Our days here were filled with leisurely cycle rides, rocky hiking trails and the overwhelming feeling that we had arrived at the most beautiful place in the world. Our hotel, Le Nautique, only reinforced that feeling. The food was worthy of a Michelin star, the staff were excellent and the atmosphere was wonderfully welcoming and personal.
- Anse Source d'Argent – Undoubtedly one of the most photogenic beaches in the world.

Anse Cocos – Our personal highlight
Care is needed because of the current, but the natural ‘swimming pool’ is a wonderful place to cool off.

Our Final Thoughts
Looking back, we would reduce the sailing tour to 5 days and spend the extra time on La Digue. The Seychelles thoroughly delighted us with their remarkable variety: the lively island of Mahé, the intense catamaran sailing adventure and the blissful relaxation of La Digue. These days were truly special to us and will always remain in our memories as one of our most wonderful trips!
