Island Hopping in the Seychelles
We spent a total of 12 days in the Seychelles.
Cerf Island
We spent the first four days on Cerf Island at L'Habitation. The hotel has only a few rooms and is wonderfully relaxing. There are very few hotels on the entire island, which means that even the island’s main beach is often deserted.
One of the highlights of our trip was the food at L'Habitation. We had half board, so we enjoyed a delicious dinner every evening. There is a small reef directly in front of the hotel. The hotel offers guided snorkelling sessions. We saw the most beautiful corals of our holiday here. During our snorkelling trip, we saw two sea turtles less than 200 metres from the hotel.

Praslin
Our second stop was the island of Praslin. We spent four days here at Village de Pecheur. The island is very easy to explore using the public bus service.
The highlights of this island for us were Anse Lazio, with its fine sand, and Vallée de Mai National Park. We travelled to both attractions by public bus. Outside the national park, we were approached by a German-speaking guide. He charged €10 per person for the tour. We were lucky, as there were only four people in our group. A guided tour of the national park is highly recommended. We learnt a great deal of interesting information about the local flora and fauna. A guide’s trained eye is particularly helpful when looking for parrots.
La Digue
Overall, La Digue is wonderfully relaxing. There is hardly any motorised traffic, and both tourists and locals get around by bicycle. The many dream beaches are also all within easy cycling distance. All in all, our trip was perfect.

The organisation of the island-hopping transfers is also worth highlighting. We never had to wait and were always given a friendly welcome. We can therefore only recommend booking the transfers at the same time. The tourists in the Seychelles are very considerate. We did not see any litter on any of the beaches.
We visited the Seychelles over Christmas and New Year. We had one rainy day, but even then it was warm enough to swim. The other days were either cloudy or brilliantly sunny. Our skin was grateful for the cloudy days, as the sun is very strong.
Incidentally, we generally brought far too much luggage, as there is no need for long-sleeved clothing, even in the evenings. All our hotels provided beach towels, so there was no need to bring our own. It is definitely worth bringing a complete set of snorkelling equipment with you, as there are countless opportunities to snorkel and equipment is only very rarely available to hire. Snorkelling in the Seychelles is an absolute highlight. We felt as though we were swimming in an aquarium. As well as fins, a snorkel and a mask, it is worth bringing a rash vest to reduce the risk of sunburn during longer snorkelling sessions.
