L'Habitation is an extremely neat, well-run hotel, built on a former coconut plantation, next to the beach on Cerf Island. It is surrounded by a wonderful green garden, and a number or relaxing areas along the shoreline. The lagoon taxi offers a shuttle service to the main island of Mahé, a journey that only takes a few minutes.

They actually deserved 5 stars...but the bed was a disaster...the rest 5 stars!
Translation (DE): GoogleTranslateLike paradise. Very quiet, few guests, beautiful pool area, and lovely bungalow rooms. Free kayak use. Half-board is necessary as there's nowhere to buy food. The beach bar is about 200 meters away, but it's not always staffed. Dinner was good. For breakfast, it's best to arrive at 7:30 a.m., as not all food and drinks are replenished. That's the only downside. Friendly staff. We were able to keep our room until noon, so we could shower before our pick-up.

From Dominic's diffident and friendly welcome at the Eden Island pier and his expert boat-handling skills, through to us being unloaded at the pier several days later, we had no complaints. With no shops on the island I booked the half-board option - and we reveled in the meals prepared for us each evening. (One can catch their ferry boat several times a day to do shopping at Eden Island or visit Victoria/Mahe at cost of SCR 100 pp return. The same meals prepared for guests can also be ordered as desired.) My top tip here - use the jetty to walk most of the way over the shallows and snorkel from there.
