Three Islands in November
Mahé
Our first stop was the Hanneman Holiday Residence on Mahé. We had booked the Terrace Studio for four days, although at least five or even seven days would have been better.
Manfred gave us lots of useful tips. We spent two days exploring Mahé by hire car. For us, Beau Vallon, which was within walking distance of Hanneman, was simply the most beautiful beach. Even in the evening, we could quickly go back into the water and enjoy an excellent swim. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, while the food from the stalls on the beach was also inexpensive and good. We prepared our own breakfast on the terrace. Some initial provisions were provided in the fridge. The Terrace Studio was spacious enough for two people. It had air conditioning and a fan. The kitchen was generally fully equipped, although a coffee machine would have been a welcome addition. The room was cleaned daily, and fresh bed linen, towels and even beach towels were available on request. All the staff were friendly and highly motivated. Thoroughly recommended!
La Digue
After two calm ferry crossings, we arrived on La Digue, where we received a very warm welcome from the manager at Le Surmer. Here, too, fresh towels were provided every day, as well as beach towels on request. We often used the property’s own sun loungers on the beach, and the sunset was particularly beautiful to watch.

The bungalow was very spacious and also had a kitchenette. A coffee machine would have been nice here too, but otherwise the kitchen had everything we needed. Breakfast was available for €10 and dinner for €20, which was excellent value for the wonderful food, especially the fish. Each day, we could decide whether to eat at Le Surmer or cater for ourselves. Five days here was just right. We could borrow bicycles from Le Surmer and cycled around the island every day. The most beautiful beach, Anse Source d'Argent, was less than 10 minutes away.
Following a recommendation, we took a half-day boat trip, which was lovely, with some excellent snorkelling. The underwater world was unique! Le Surmer is very centrally located: the supermarket is a 5-minute journey away, and a bank branch and several restaurants are also within easy reach. La Passe, which had numerous shops and restaurants, was a 10-minute bicycle ride away. The entire team worked wonderfully together, and everyone helped to make our stay so enjoyable.
Praslin
Taking the small plane from Praslin back to Mahé, followed by our return flight to Germany, was a good idea. It meant we arrived directly at the airport and avoided the ferry crossing, which can be rougher at other times of the year.
We had wonderful weather for November. It rained for one day, but we were travelling from La Digue to Praslin at the time, so it did not really bother us. There were occasional showers during the night, but by morning there was barely any sign of them. The humidity was very high, which naturally made longer walks tiring. However, there was always a beach waiting at the end where we could cool off, with the water temperature at around 27°C.
As for SeyVillas, we found the organisation thoroughly professional. We spent a long time looking for the best flights and the ideal itinerary. The staff patiently provided advice and assistance. Once we had booked, we did not have to worry about a thing. SeyVillas kept us informed, including about changes to flight times and similar matters. While we were there, Creole Travel Services looked after us. Their staff welcomed us on each island and gave us useful local tips. They were excellent too! We can wholeheartedly recommend both SeyVillas and the Seychelles as a travel destination.
