Our Dream Holiday in the Seychelles
Our dream holiday in the Seychelles began with checking in on the Praslin Dreaml on Mahé – with 24 passengers and 4 crew members.
It was a real marvel of space: our cabin measured 5.5 square metres and had a shower and toilet, and you could even find a little corner to retreat to if necessary. Our chef served us delicious Creole food three times a day. The entire crew looked after us wonderfully and, whenever possible, fulfilled our every wish. Each evening, we discussed the following day’s plans with the captain: which island we would visit, what was on the itinerary, and whether we would go snorkelling or take a trip ashore with a meal on the beach.

Seeing the small and larger islands from the catamaran was a wonder in itself. Then being taken everywhere by dinghy, with all the time we wanted to snorkel, go for walks or simply admire the scenery, was an absolute dream. We simply could not get enough of those surreal colours, ranging from turquoise, pale blue and green to deep blue. This cruise was so beautiful it brought tears to our eyes!

Our second stop was the island of Praslin. We spent the nights in a wonderful hotel directly on the beach, with a balcony overlooking the turquoise sea through the palm fronds. This was also where we experienced the torrential downpours. The so-called Golden Beach on Praslin, directly in front of our hotel, was a wonderful place for a walk even in the rain. An excursion to the lesser-known Fond Ferdinand National Park on a crowded local bus was quite an adventure. Unfortunately, we got off too early and then had to take a taxi to the park entrance, as the uphill walk would have been too strenuous in the heat. There was rainforest, Coco de Mer palms, magnificent views across the islands and an absolutely charming and professional member of staff who introduced us to the flora and fauna of the Seychelles.
Our excursion to Anse Georgette was another very special experience. It is located within the grounds of the Lemuria Resort, but you can still visit if you register in advance.

One of the best things about the islands was that all the beaches were open to everyone, with no parasols or sun loungers in sight, and no beach vendors either.
Our personal favourite island was La Digue. Our hotel was inland, on a former coconut plantation with a wonderful atmosphere. We had a standard room, which was enormous, with a lovely balcony overlooking the swimming pool. We made good use of it, especially after our cycling tours around the island. On La Digue, cycling is the way to get around. For five days, we explored the island in every direction, over every ‘mountain’ and along every beach, up and down, and it was simply fantastic.
A trekking tour to Anse Marron was the highlight of our time on the island. We experienced everything, and it felt like more than a triathlon: swimming, cycling, climbing, exploring caves and crawling on all fours.

There are many giant tortoises to see in the national park on La Digue. You can even enter the enclosure and feed the tortoises leaves. Anse Source d'Argent, a particularly impressive beach with the Seychelles’ famous granite rocks, is a wonderful place to linger and dream.
Our final stop was Cerf Island, where things were a little more peaceful. We spent the last four days relaxing on sun loungers and finally opening the books we had brought with us. The delightful staff at our hotel took excellent care of us, and we enjoyed the Creole cuisine. We went snorkelling once more and reflected on the wonderful time we had spent in the Seychelles. And we dreamt of perhaps returning one day for another dream holiday!

Thank you so much, SeyVillas!
