Taking Our Baby to Paradise
The Seychelles are the perfect destination for a holiday with a baby. There are no dangerous diseases or venomous animals, and many of the beaches are ideal for swimming. Our daughter was 4 months old when we travelled. Thanks to SeyVillas, our trip was perfectly organised. We did not have to worry about anything while island hopping and could enjoy a relaxed start to our first holiday with a baby.
We had a dedicated contact on each island. The Creole Travel Service staff spoke excellent English and even German, and were always able to help us with any questions. Overall, we always felt well informed and looked after by the tour operator. There was just one occasion when our hotel transfer failed to arrive because the driver had forgotten us, but it was not really a problem. Shortly afterwards, another very friendly driver was arranged, who got us to the ferry ‘just in time’. We would book another trip to the Seychelles with SeyVillas at any time. In the following travel report, we have shared some of the many impressions from our holiday.
Mahé
Thanks to the overnight flight with Condor, we arrived on Mahé in the morning feeling relaxed and well rested. We were welcomed by the local tour operator, ‘Creole Travel Service’, with a welcome drink and a refreshing towel. We were then driven to our hotel, the Valmer Resort, which was to be our home for 5 nights. On arrival, we received another warm welcome, and the resort staff were absolutely delighted to meet our little daughter. A cot had even been set up in our very spacious room. We were also very happy with our new home in every other respect. The highlights included the shower, which offered views out towards the sea, and the large balcony with a ‘chill-out lounge’, where there was room for all 3 of us. The rest of the hotel was equally impressive, with delicious food, friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and an infinity pool.
The beach, which is only a few hundred metres away, is ideal for swimming, and the many trees meant that we could always find a spot in the shade. From the beautiful Baie Lazare Bucht, we went on several walks, including to the beach at the Four Seasons Resort and to Anse Soleil .
Praslin
On Praslin, we stayed in more modest accommodation, but it was very clean and offered a wonderful view of the sea. The owners were genuinely friendly and, as we had booked half board, we enjoyed a delicious dinner every evening, which was better than the food at many hotels or restaurants. We particularly recommend the Sea View Lodge for its warm hospitality.
We hired a car through the Sea View Lodge and used it to explore the island. We particularly loved Anse Lazio, which we visited twice. It is ideal for swimming and snorkelling, and the nearby restaurants meant that lunch was taken care of too. After 4 nights, we took the ferry to La Digue.

La Digue
La Digue is paradise on earth and was our personal favourite. The small island has a wonderfully laid-back atmosphere and plenty of cyclists, as there are no cars, or only very few, on the island. It is easy to get from A to B quickly because the island is so small. We spent another 4 nights at Le Surmer Chalets, where we had a lovely little house overlooking the sea. Once again, we were impressed by the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff. We hired bicycles through the hotel for a day to explore the island. We spent the other days at the famous beach from the Bacardi advert, Anse Source d’Argent. Looking at the photos, it probably goes without saying that La Digue is paradise. At the end of each day, we were treated to magnificent sunsets, which we enjoyed from the hotel’s own beach.

Back to Mahé
After 4 days, we finally returned to Mahé, where we spent 1 night at the Coral Strand Hotel on Beau Vallon. If you prefer somewhere livelier and more tourist-oriented, this is the perfect place. For us, the beautiful, expansive beach and magnificent sunsets were a lovely way to end the trip. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and we left the Seychelles with heavy hearts. It was definitely one of the best holidays we have ever had.
