Honeymoons in Wonderful Destinations
Our honeymoon began on 28/07/2017 with a trip to Dubai. It was great that we were able to book the entire journey, including Dubai, through SeyVillas.
When we arrived, overwhelmed by the heat, our hotel, the Ramada Downtown, was waiting for us directly opposite the world-famous Burj Khalifa and its spectacular fountains.
We spent three days there and saw all the main sights. We visited the 148th floor of the Burj Khalifa, spent plenty of time exploring the enormous Dubai Mall and walked from Kite Beach to the Burj Al Arab.

All in all, Dubai is an impressive city and is definitely worth visiting for a few days.
On 01/08/2017, we continued on to Mahé. Our transfer took us directly to the harbour, where we boarded the ferry to Praslin.

The crossing took an hour and, unfortunately, was not pleasant for everyone on board due to seasickness. We had booked seats on the upper deck, which offered a lovely view. Once we arrived on Praslin, our transfer took us to our accommodation, Villas du Voyageur. The owner, Natalie, is German, which was very nice for us. It was a wonderful apartment with everything we needed and a huge private terrace. At the far end of the large, idyllic garden was Anse Kerlan, where we had the beach entirely to ourselves – an absolute dream!

The accommodation is particularly lovely for animal lovers, as there were lots of dogs, cats, ducks and chickens, which provided delicious fresh eggs every day, as well as a baby tortoise and a giant tortoise. Simply wonderful! We hired a car for our stay and used it to explore the entire island. There is no need to worry about driving on the left; it is very easy, as nobody drives particularly fast, although the roads are not always in the best condition. We mostly ate at takeaways, which served some of the best food we had on all the islands we visited. We can recommend the Paradiser restaurant on Praslin; the food is delicious and fresh, and the owner is extremely friendly!
We often visited Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or), where there is a delicious takeaway right beside the road. On our penultimate day on Praslin, we went to Anse Georgette. It is worth knowing that reaching the beach involves walking all the way through Constance Lémuria Resort, which is quite a distance. The beach itself is very beautiful, but the waves are high and should not be underestimated. Unfortunately, we found it a little too crowded, so it was not a highlight for us.

We also visited Fond Ferdinand Park, which is truly wonderful.

You learn a great deal about the Seychelles’ palms and plant life and, of course, see the famous Coco de Mer. Do not forget mosquito repellent, though – I was covered in bites afterwards.

On 07/08, we continued by fast ferry to La Digue. The 15-minute crossing was very enjoyable despite the pouring rain and rough seas. Once there, we headed to our accommodation, Etoile Labrine, where we immediately hired bicycles for our stay. We explored the entire island, which was fantastic by bicycle. Anyone who is afraid of spiders should probably avoid looking too closely at the power lines or between the palm trees. The so-called palm spiders look rather frightening, and I certainly got quite a shock at first. Unfortunately, the world-famous Anse Source d'Argent is already extremely crowded early in the morning. The enormous blue lagoon and granite rocks are impressive, of course, but this beach was not our highlight of the island.

Late in the evening, we cycled back to the beach – you purchase a day ticket – to admire the sunset. Thankfully, we were able to enjoy it without all the other tourists. Our dream beach was Anse Patates – hardly anyone was there, and it had everything we needed.

It was one of the most beautiful beaches we found! You just need to keep the tides in mind, as there is hardly any beach at high tide, although this is the case at almost all beaches in the Seychelles. During our bicycle tour, we encountered several large giant tortoises roaming freely, so naturally we had to stop and take a photograph.

For that reason, we decided to skip the excursion to Curieuse altogether. Our final tour took us to Grand Anse and Petite Anse. It was a beautiful bicycle route, and when we arrived, we found an enormous beach with turquoise-blue water. We stayed there for quite a while before setting off on foot towards Anse Cocos. It is a somewhat strenuous walk through the ‘jungle’, but it is absolutely worthwhile. An almost deserted beach awaited us, and along the way we saw many local animals and insects. I had never seen such an enormous millipede. For food, we can only recommend Gala Takeaway and the pizzeria Le Repaire.

On 10/08, we took the fast ferry back to Praslin, followed by a transfer directly to the airport for our flight to Mahé. After a quick security check, check-in and a short wait, we were soon seated in the tiny aircraft.

After a quick take-off, we were treated to a magnificent view. We were thrilled – it was an absolute highlight! Shortly before landing on Mahé, we had a wonderful view of the coral reefs.

We would recommend the flight to everyone; it was smoother than many flights we have taken in much larger aircraft.
After arriving on Mahé, we travelled to our final stop in the Seychelles.

Our accommodation was Valmer Resort, situated on a hillside with a wonderful view over Baie Lazare Bay. We also hired a car on Mahé, allowing us to explore the entire island without any difficulty.

We visited the Takamaka rum distillery, Takamaka Rum Distillery, as well as Eden Island and Victoria. We personally did not enjoy Victoria as much, as it was noisy and there was a lot of construction work. We did not have dinner at our hotel because it was simply too expensive, but the excellent Sound Garden Bar & Grill Seychelles was only a five-minute walk away, and that was where we ate the best fish of our trip!
For us, the most beautiful beach was Anse Soleil, a gorgeous bay with wonderful sunsets.

Mahé also offers many other beautiful beaches and an impressive variety of plant life.
On 15/08, we travelled back to Frankfurt via Dubai. We will never forget this holiday and would recommend the Seychelles to everyone. It truly is paradise, and the islands are not yet too crowded.
