The Surreal Beauty of the Seychelles
With this journal, we would like to share an insight into our 10-day trip to the Seychelles and perhaps inspire other travel enthusiasts to visit this beautiful destination. The excellent and reliable travel planning provided by SeyVillas helped to make our holiday both well organised and full of adventure.
Praslin
On Praslin, we stayed at Le Domaine de La Reserve. This exceptionally well-maintained resort impressed us with its beautiful seaside location and villas, all of which had direct sea views. The restaurant is built on stilts over the sea, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
If we did want to leave this beautiful resort, the friendly staff provided bicycles free of charge.

We took advantage of this on our very first day to visit the nearby Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or) beach on the Côte d’Or, which is ideal for sunbathing and swimming. Anse Lazio, north of the hotel, is also well worth a visit. This is where you will find Bonbon Plume, which is only open at lunchtime. However, if you simply fancy a cold beer or some coconut water, we recommend visiting the Honesty Bar at the far end of the beach. If you cannot find the way, just ask the lifeguard in the hammock…

Another excursion took us to Vallée de Mai National Park, where the famous Coco de Mer grows. We recommend hiring a guide here! It made the 1½-hour tour through the park incredibly interesting. Afterwards, we visited Curieuse Island to see the giant tortoises. It is worth taking some bananas with you, as the tortoises are mad about the peels!

For dining on Praslin, we recommend Café de Arts. This restaurant is known for its fresh fish and seafood, although the menu offers something for every taste. It has a lovely and slightly unusual atmosphere, which we really enjoyed. At weekends, there is also a tapas bar which later becomes a nightclub. It is located on the restaurant’s rooftop and offers lovely views over the beach and sea.
La Digue
We continued to La Digue by ferry. After the 15-minute crossing, we were collected directly from the ferry terminal in one of the hotel’s golf buggies. We also really enjoyed our stay at Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie! Although the rooms do not have sea views, the resort stands out for its beautiful pool area, which has the feel of a beach club. The restaurant and bar are also very attractively designed, and the food was excellent.

One highly recommended place to visit on La Digue is Anse Source d'Argent beach. With its picturesque rock formations and turquoise water, it looks like a film set.
The beach is slightly hidden and can only be reached by passing through a national park. La Digue is a car-free island, so bicycles are the main means of transport.
A little insider tip is Chez Jules, a bar which is also easy to reach by bicycle.

He used to dive for shells and knows the ocean and all its inhabitants like the back of his hand.
