An Anniversary in Paradise
We decided at very short notice to escape the bad weather and spend our 5th wedding anniversary in paradise. The Seychelles had always been on our travel wish list, and we now wanted to make this dream come true. We contacted SeyVillas to plan the perfect island-hopping trip, and although it was only 1–2 weeks in advance, everything worked out brilliantly and we were still able to find some lovely accommodation.
La Digue
We had also booked the transfer through SeyVillas, which was very convenient as we did not have to worry about a thing. We were collected by bus from the airport on Mahé and then continued by ferry to La Digue. The crossing was a little challenging due to the rough seas, but once we arrived on La Digue, our holiday could truly begin.
We spent 6 nights in one of the bungalows at Le Surmer. The location is absolutely perfect. We could hire bicycles directly from the property and were just a few minutes away from several supermarkets and various restaurants, as well as the harbour and the entrance to L'Union Estate .
The beach belonging to the property is also wonderful, as it is directly opposite, has sun loungers and is in a very peaceful location. From here, you can enjoy the sunset or buy a fresh red snapper or other fish from the fishermen who return to this beach each day. At night, we also had a wonderful view of the Milky Way from here.

Our highlights on La Digue included the beautiful beach at Anse Source d'Argent, as well as Grand Anse and Petite Anse. They are much less crowded than Anse Source d'Argent, making them perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

Other unforgettable experiences included the sunset barbecue at Belle Vue, with views across the island, on our wedding anniversary, as well as the snorkelling excursion to Félicité and Île Cocos. Although many reefs are sadly affected by coral bleaching, you can still discover a truly fascinating underwater world here.

Praslin
We were collected by taxi again, took the ferry to Praslin and were met there by another driver, who took us directly to our second accommodation, Villa Anse La Blague.
Here, you are far away from the hustle and bustle, with the unspoilt Anse la Blague right on your doorstep. There is a small supermarket just around the corner where you can find all the essentials. Breakfast was good, although it was the same every day: a plate of fresh fruit, juice, coffee or tea, eggs prepared as an omelette, fried or scrambled, as well as jam and toast.
We hired a car to explore the island, giving us more flexibility and allowing us to get from A to B more quickly. A small Kia Picanto is perfectly adequate. You just need a little time to get used to driving on the left.
One of our highlights here was Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve, an alternative to the better-known Vallée de Mai. A guide leads you through the rainforest in a highly entertaining way and points out all the special features of the plant life. The trail leads to the summit, which offers magnificent views across the island.

Anse Lazio became our favourite beach. It was love at first sight, and we visited 3 times during our 7-day stay because we simply could not get enough of it. The beach is beautiful, particularly at either end, where there are fewer people and several rocks jut out into the water. The snorkelling is excellent, and there are restaurants and bars nearby, so you can spend the entire day there and stay to enjoy the sunset in the evening.

We also spent a lovely day at Anse Georgette. It is important to make a reservation with Constance Lémuria Resort in advance so that you are granted access to the beach. There were high waves at the time of our visit, and we had great fun swimming and jumping through them.

Mahé
As our return flight was very early in the morning, we had planned to spend another 2 days on Mahé so that we could get to the airport without any stress and visit a few more beautiful places on the main island. We therefore travelled by taxi and then ferry from Praslin to Mahé. When we arrived at Le Domaine de Bacova, our hire car was already waiting for us, arranged by our local representative. We began straight away by exploring the lively city of Victoria, then visited Beau Vallon before driving along the west coast to Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare, where we rounded off the day with a lovely dinner at the beach restaurant.
The following day, we tackled the Anse Major Trail , which we can highly recommend. The trail is easy to walk and leads through the rainforest and along the coast, offering magnificent views before ending at the small bay. We spent our final day on the beach here and went snorkelling one last time before, sadly, having to begin our journey home.

All in all, they were 2 unforgettable and wonderful weeks!
