We stayed for 5 nights at Chez Bea Villa, where we were welcomed with exceptional kindness and professionalism. Our apartment was spacious and stood on the edge of the forest: truly special! We appreciated the opportunity to dine at the property and sample some of the island’s traditional dishes.
What will remain in our hearts from Praslin is the beautiful Anse Lazio, with its unique scenery, as well as the peacefulness and warmth of the islanders. Anse Lazio, PraslinThe crystal-clear waters of Anse Lazio, Praslin
Our experience in the Vallée de Mai forest was also wonderful. This UNESCO World Heritage nature reserve is home to the famous coco de mer. Vallée de Mai, Praslin
After exploring the island’s various beaches, such as Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or) and Anse Georgette,
on our final day we had the opportunity to take a catamaran excursion to St Pierre Island, an excellent snorkelling spot, and the Curieuse Marine National Park, which is home to giant tortoises and crabs. St. Pierre
Curieuse truly feels like a world apart, with its lush vegetation and countless crabs of every species and size. The true rulers of the island are the giant tortoises: very sociable and always ready to be stroked by visitors. The giant tortoises of Curieuse Island
What cannot be described, however, are the scents of this island and all the others: unique sensations that we will always carry with us!
Second stop: La Digue
Tiny La Digue, an island measuring just 5 km by 3 km, was the jewel of the Seychelles for us!
As soon as we disembarked, our transfer took us to our guest house. That was the last time we used a car to get around: we immediately hired bicycles and immersed ourselves in the rhythm of island life! Its greatest strength is its small size, along with its peaceful atmosphere and the kindness of its people.
It is also home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Seychelles: Anse Source d'Argent. Anse Source d'Argent, La Digu
With its coral reef and fish of every size, it was truly a dream! Our days on this island flew by, and we would happily have stayed for at least another 3 days because it really is an indescribable place! Grand Anse, La DigueThe welcome was equally wonderful: on our first evening, our guest house, Etoile Labrine, surprised us with a candlelit dinner in the garden to celebrate our honeymoon! What more could we have asked for? There is no doubt that whenever we look back on this trip, our thoughts will immediately turn to La Digue!
Final stop: Mahé
The main island, home to the capital, is therefore a little busier. However, from our accommodation, Villa Roscia, just a stone’s throw from Beau Vallon, we were able to enjoy the final sunsets of our holiday from a privileged vantage point. The owner, Paolo, an Italian who now lives in the Seychelles, welcomed us with great kindness and good humour, and even cooked us an excellent dinner! Sunset at Beau Vallon, Mahé
To end our holiday on a high note, we spent the final day of our trip enjoying the sunshine and the fish of the coral reef on an excursion to the Sainte Anne Marine National Park. This park is a reserve teeming with tropical species: swimming amongst fish of every size and colour was a truly unique experience! Sainte Anne Marine Park, Mahé
Throughout our stay, we were assisted by the team at Creole, a local agency that organises transfers both on and between the islands, excursions and all kinds of assistance, with truly exceptional professionalism and punctuality! A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for all their advice and support!
What can we say? We returned home with a unique collection of experiences and emotions. This corner of Africa will remain in our hearts, and we hope that one day we will be able to return to this paradise!
