We have now been back from our dream holiday in the Seychelles for four weeks, and not a day goes by without me looking back on our wonderful time there with a smile.
At the end of February, we flew to the Seychelles with Emirates for just under three weeks. The journey went very smoothly, and I would recommend booking the transfer package through SeyVillas. It allows you to start your holiday feeling relaxed, with no stress when travelling between the islands either. We visited the three main islands in the following order: Praslin – La Digue – Mahé. This meant that we did not have to change islands again on the day of our return flight and could spend the whole of our final day exploring Mahé. All three islands have their own charm, and their landscapes differ in the most delightful ways. As a result, there is never a dull moment in the Seychelles.
Praslin
I will say it straight away: Praslin was our favourite island. The natural scenery is magical and the beaches are breathtaking. We stayed at the Castello Beach Hotel
, which I can highly recommend. The room was spotlessly clean, and the location on a dream beach was priceless.

The hotel is on the west coast, which is apparently highly recommended in February and March, as there was quite a lot of seaweed on the east coast.
You definitely should not miss the dream beach of Anse Georgette. However, you must book in advance through the Constance Lemuria hotel. We loved the beach so much that we spent the entire day there.
Anse Georgette
I would also highly recommend the following activities:
A hike to Anse Lazio (starting directly by Castello Beach)
A visit to Fond Ferdinand to see the Coco de Mer with your own eyes
An exhilarating bus ride across the island
A trip to Curieuse Marine National Park to see the giant tortoises in person
La Digue
After eight wonderful days, we continued on to La Digue. It is even more peaceful here than on Praslin. We stayed at Etoile Labrine, a simple guesthouse near Anse Source d'Argent.

We were able to hire bicycles directly from the guesthouse and used them to explore the entire island. It is lovely to cycle from beach to beach and stop wherever takes your fancy. There are small roadside food stalls offering cold drinks and curries when you need a bite to eat. Our favourite was Mi Mum's. The highlight of La Digue was seeing two sea turtles during a snorkelling excursion to the islands of Cocos, Felicité and Sisters.

Mahé
Compared with Praslin and La Digue, Mahé is much busier. There are several bus routes covering the whole island, but a hire car is still essential. It is the only way to explore the many different bays with complete flexibility. When it comes to dream beaches, Mahé can certainly hold its own against Praslin and La Digue. Here too, we could not get enough of the beautiful natural scenery. We went on a fantastic hike to Anse Major. We also really enjoyed visiting the market in Victoria on Saturday morning and the Le Jardin Du Roi Spice Garden.
We had booked the Crown Beach Hotel on the east coast. The hotel is very clean and stylishly furnished. However, the hotel beach was not particularly inviting. Our favourite beach on Mahé was in Baie Lazare.
Baie Lazare
Depending on the tides, the water here can look and feel very different, and you may even get to watch a wedding ceremony at the same time.
For us, the Seychelles were the ultimate dream holiday, and we would happily do the exact same trip again at any time. The natural scenery, dream beaches and local people are definitely worth the journey.
