Complete relaxation in a beautiful corner of the world
Praslin
A smooth non-stop Condor flight arrived punctually on Mahé. As we had booked the transfer package through SeyVillas, we were warmly welcomed at the airport by a representative from ‘Creole’. Shortly afterwards, we travelled by minivan to the harbour. After an hour’s wait, we boarded the ferry to Praslin. Once we arrived at the harbour, we continued without delay to the hotel, Le Domaine de La Reserve, 20 minutes away. It was not exactly cheap, but beautifully situated in a bay with a private beach. We then received a very warm welcome with drinks. When we entered our room, we could hardly believe our eyes. From the bed in our Beach Front Room, we could look straight out over the turquoise waters of our bay. What a dream view…
La Digue
After being collected from the hotel on Mahé and enjoying a pleasant ferry crossing, we arrived at our hotel on La Digue, Chateau Saint Cloud, during the morning. We had booked 8 nights here, which turned out to be exactly right for us. This meant we could take our time exploring the entire island by bicycle. With an 8-day stay, there is no need to visit 2 or more major beaches in a single day just to see them all. Instead, we visited a different beach each day and made ourselves comfortable there. The island has a wonderful atmosphere, largely thanks to the small number of vehicles, the abundance of bicycles, the friendly locals, the good and inexpensive food available from takeaways and restaurants and, of course, the giant tortoises roaming freely. A dream island with dream beaches. Our favourite beaches were Anse Patates and Anse Banane. There were few visitors, if any, plenty of shade and a good restaurant at each beach. At the right-hand end of Anse Banane, there was also a wonderful, albeit small, snorkelling paradise. Anyone who enjoys a little scrambling over rocks should walk to Anse Cocos. It is a wide, white beach without stones or fragments of coral, with beautiful water and dreamlike scenery.
Mahé
For our final 4 nights, we returned to Mahé. This required 2 ferry transfers, as there is no direct connection from La Digue to Mahé 7. Despite waiting an hour for the second ferry, we still reached our Bliss Hotel, north of Beau Vallon on Mahé, fairly quickly. Once again, we were amazed by the beautifully and lovingly decorated room we were given. The quiet air conditioning also made for peaceful and comfortable nights. The hotel has a small private beach, but the real highlight is the bay itself, as this was where we saw more fish than at any of the other beaches. We even encountered a ray here. Breakfast was delicious, and the adjoining Rockpool Restaurant served very good snacks throughout the day. This hotel also had a bus stop right outside, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Naturally, a visit to Beau Vallon was also a must for us, although we liked the beaches on La Digue even more. As even the most wonderful holiday must eventually come to an end, we were collected at 06:20 on our final day for our flight at 10:20. We can recommend the SeyVillas transfer package without hesitation, as there were no problems whatsoever. Our names were on every list, and we were collected punctually everywhere as arranged. If we are fortunate enough to return to the Seychelles, we will book with SeyVillas again – without wishing to make this sound like an advertisement – as we were very impressed by the clear layout of the website, the assistance provided whenever we had questions and the transfer arrangements as a whole.
