We first visited the Seychelles in 2018. Since then, we have seen a lot of the world, but the Seychelles have always stayed in our minds. As our
daughter was born in February, the question was: where could we go to escape grey and gloomy Germany in November? So, we decided to visit the Seychelles for a 2nd time. As we had been completely satisfied with SeyVillas for our 1st booking, there was no doubt that we would book this trip through SeyVillas as well.
It was the best decision, and our 9-month-old daughter thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the turquoise sea too. This time, we decided to stay only on the main island of Mahé. We stayed at The Seaboards Apartments. It is a beautiful, small apartment complex just a few steps from the Indian Ocean. The breakfast was excellent, with everything we could have wished for, as well as delicious local specialities. The hospitality and warmth of the staff deserve a special mention: they always had a smile on their faces and took such lovely care of our daughter.
Another big advantage for us was that supermarkets and takeaways were within easy walking distance. In our opinion, Anse à la Mouche is one of the most beautiful beaches on Mahé.

On the very 1st day after our arrival, we visited the small but charming Anse Soleil, a picture-perfect beach with granite rocks, palm trees and gentle waves. It is also a good place for snorkelling. My husband was lucky enough to encounter a ray. Anse Soleil, Mahé
In the afternoon, we visited Kot Man-Ya Exotic Garden, not far from our accommodation.
This garden should definitely be on your to-do list! The scent of exotic plants is everywhere, small winding paths lead through the garden, and there are even 4 giant tortoises to admire – a highlight for our daughter!

The next day, one of my absolute highlights and my favourite beach from 2018 was on the itinerary: Anse Intendance!

Although this is one of the most popular beaches on Mahé, there were only a few other tourists there with us. Anse Intendance is a wild beach, and sometimes the waves are so high that swimming is prohibited. We were lucky, however, and the sea was calm. Anse Intendance still remains my number 1, closely followed by Anse Marie-Louise! We actually found this little beach purely by chance.
What can I say? It was so beautiful that we spent the entire afternoon there.

The palm trees provide plenty of shade, the sea is wonderfully shallow at low tide, and at times we had the beach all to ourselves. We also highly recommend visiting Anse Royale. Anse Royale, Mahé
We went snorkelling here too and saw plenty of colourful fish and sea cucumbers.
Along Anse Royale, you will find several fruit and vegetable vendors – our tip: be sure to buy some fresh fruit there, as it tastes so much better than it does in Germany! Our final beach recommendation, and one that is undoubtedly suitable for families, is Turtle Bay. We spent our last day here on a deserted beach. This beach is ideal, particularly for families with babies or children. The water is shallow and crystal-clear, little ones can dig in the sand, and the palm trees provide enough shade to spend the entire day there.
It is absolutely family-friendly. Of course, there are plenty of other beaches and attractions on Mahé. For example, we also spent a morning visiting the island’s capital, Victoria, where we enjoyed a delicious meal and went shopping. We feel that we found the perfect balance of beach time and activities with our daughter.
To anyone considering travelling to the Seychelles with a baby or toddler: for us, it was one of the most wonderful trips we have ever experienced. The warmth, the hospitality, the relaxed island lifestyle, the perfect weather for summer dresses and swimming costumes, the flexibility of being able to reach everything by hire car and, of course, the beautiful sunsets. All of this made the holiday so special! We look back on our time there very fondly and would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to SeyVillas for once again organising everything perfectly. We are certain that we will return to the Seychelles for a 3rd time. When our daughter is older, we will also visit Praslin and La Digue. With that in mind, we wish everyone who still has their Seychelles holiday ahead of them a wonderful time. It will definitely be a trip to remember! Thank you and best wishes from:
Tina, Tom & Tessa
