Paradise Exists
It’s true, Paradise really does exist.
For many years, my wife Monica and I had wanted to take a special trip with our two children…Alessandro, 11, and Martina, 16...Many things had held us back: school, work commitments and various other obligations…
Then in January we told ourselves it was time to do it…The Maldives, Mexico, the Caribbean….where should we go???
I looked online and found the SeyVillas website…come on, the Seychelles…everyone says they’re Paradise…..It’s all true. A few photos…a few reviews...you can get a quote online...let’s try it!!!!!
After a few attempts, we found the right option for us…a 10-day trip split between 4 nights on Praslin and 4 nights on La Digue. Right, Monica, let’s book it!!! A few days later, all the vouchers arrived…We were due to leave Malpensa on the evening of 31 January with Emirates, stopping over in Dubai before continuing on to Mahé…everything was perfect.
Praslin
The impeccable organisation brought us to Praslin, a wonderfully lush island with palms and mangroves growing right beside the sea…

Anse Lazio, Anse Takamaka, Anse Possession, but the most beautiful was Anse Volbert, with its blue sea, shallow water and white beach facing an islet of rare beauty.

We used public transport, and the local people were friendly and cheerful…it was all great fun…then there was Vallée de Mai, the large and majestic park of the Coco de Mer .
Just like our hotel…Coco de Mer, managed by Arturo, who was always friendly and helpful…
It was brilliant…four days of relaxation, excursions, excellent food and, above all, swimming in a stunning sea. We got a little sunburnt…the sun is strong…but it was worth it.
La Digue
The following morning, we set off…we took the ferry to La Digue...and arrived just 15 minutes later…
We could already feel the magic of this island…a breathtaking sight of rocks rising from a crystal-clear sea...We arrived at Chateau Saint Cloud, our hotel…beautiful and surrounded by lush nature…then we set off straight away, hired bicycles and rode along the little roads of this island, where only a few vehicles are used for transport. Martina and Alessandro were over the moon. Sea, sunshine, wonderful temperatures: everything was perfect. We entered the park at Anse Source d'Argent, perhaps the most famous beach in the whole of the Seychelles. It truly is a beach that takes your breath away….rocks smoothed by the sea and wind, surrounded by warm water in a thousand different colours.

We took countless photos because it looked like a postcard. Completely exhausted, we returned to the hotel for dinner and some rest.
The following day, we set off by catamaran for Curieuse Island, a beautiful island where giant tortoises roam freely. We went for a few swims, had a barbecue lunch and then slowly sailed back to La Digue…we saw dolphins and sea turtles…what an incredible experience.
It was a fantastic day. The sun went down and darkness enveloped the roads, with only a few street lamps here and there…it was all very atmospheric. After dinner, we cycled towards the harbour using the torches we had brought from Italy…the fishermen were coming in. A young man gave Martina a glossy, speckled shell…it was beautiful.
We went to bed exhausted after downloading the day’s photos onto the computer. There were only two days left before our departure for Italy, and we wanted to make the most of La Digue. The following morning, we cycled towards Grand Anse and Petite Anse:

We walked through the lush vegetation and, after about 20 or 30 minutes, reached a beautiful beach with blue sea and deep water, where we swam among the high waves.
Grand Anse and Petit Anse are a continuation of Source D'Argent, with smooth and very distinctive rocks…Then we reached Anse Cocos, a small beach with crystal-clear water and a beautiful natural pool. The sun was strong, so we went for another swim.
During our last two days, we enjoyed the beaches near the harbour: Anse Severe and Anse la Reunion, where we even watched a wedding on the beach….it was all very moving: the scenery and the people of this wonderful island, which will remain in our hearts forever.

It was time to leave, and on Monday afternoon the Creole staff collected us from the hotel and took us to the harbour.
After two hours on a high-speed catamaran, we were already on Mahé. The plane was waiting for us…we took off…
Goodbye, Seychelles…we’ll be back!
Although this holiday was short, it was unforgettable…thank you to the SeyVillas team for the flawless organisation of this wonderful trip.
