Unforgettable

We visited three islands: Praslin, La Digue and Mahé. Each gave us something different, while the heavenly beaches and unspoilt nature were a constant throughout.

We hired a car on Praslin and Mahé, which is an experience in itself. Driving on the left, in a right-hand-drive car, along some rather challenging roads surrounded by lush nature was an incredible adventure! Being able to stop whenever we liked at beaches that were often deserted, without any parking problems or particular plans to follow... unforgettable moments of pure relaxation.

The climate is ideal, with temperatures ranging from 26–30°C. Everything seems to be in perfect balance, created by nature. The sky is always slightly hazy and, when the sun comes out, it is truly scorching, but you will always find a palm tree offering shade and someone ready to serve you fresh coconut milk.

Praslin

We stayed on the southern coast of Praslin, which is not the liveliest or most touristy area, but with a hire car you can reach anywhere on the island within minutes. Near our accommodation, YASAD Luxury Beach Residence, was the wonderfully peaceful Anse Takamaka beach, where we were able to enjoy our first long-awaited swim after the journey.

Another experience from Praslin that will remain in our hearts is our excursion to the Vallée de Mai, where we discovered the secrets and richness of the forest, especially the famous coco de mer, the fascinating and unusual coconut for which Praslin is renowned. Of course, we could not miss a visit to the island’s most beautiful beaches: Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette.

La Digue

This island truly amazed and captivated us. As soon as we arrived at the little harbour, we immediately felt the welcoming atmosphere of a village. We soon felt part of it, embracing its slow pace of life and always on our bicycles, which took us to wonderful places every day.

Our excursion through the forest to reach Anse Marron was unforgettable. It is a natural pool with fine sand, crystal-clear water and imposing granite formations, true works of art created by nature!

The beaches of Grand Anse and Petite Anse were also beautiful, as were the long, relaxing walks along Anse Source d'Argent. The sunset from Anse Severe was wonderful.

La Digue is undoubtedly the island that stayed in our hearts and that we truly did not want to leave. The people here are always friendly and smiling; everyone greets you in the street and often asks how you are!

Mahé

Mahé gave us the complete relaxation we definitely needed. We allowed ourselves to be soothed by the sound of the sea outside our room and pampered by the comforts of the resort where we stayed, Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare, located on the beautiful Baie Lazare.

While exploring by car, we discovered a beautiful beach, Anse Royale, which we returned to several times. The water here is crystal-clear and wonderfully warm. The beach is also popular with the island’s residents, who gather there at weekends for lively picnics with music and barbecues.

A holiday we would choose again a thousand times over.
